Marxist San Francisco DA Implements No Bail & Curtails Pretrial Detention

quote:
Last week, San Francisco’s newly elected district attorney, Chesa Boudin, released his office’s new bail policy. Following his campaign promise, the new policy forbids prosecutors from requesting money bail under any circumstances. In addition, it allows them to request pretrial jail time only for people who face certain violent charges and who prosecutors believe pose a high risk of violence or flight.
quote:
Boudin has adopted what is easily the most progressive prosecutor bail policy in the country. His reforms are more comprehensive and transparent than those adopted by other leading progressive prosecutors, such as Boston’s Rachael Rollins and Philadelphia’s Larry Krasner, let alone those of DAs elsewhere in the country.
quote:
prosecutors in his office can never request money bail, and they can never defend someone’s incarceration on money bail. That’s a big shift in policy that should enable many people to avoid jail pretrial.
quote:
money bail is not the only mechanism for jailing people pretrial. In many states, including California, a judge — often acting on a prosecutor’s recommendation — can determine that a person is dangerous or is a flight risk and order that person to be jailed until the criminal case is over. Boudin’s policy restricts when this can happen. It sets a presumption against it, and enables prosecutors to recommend pretrial detention only for people facing charges for certain violent felonies. And they can do that only if the prosecutor is convinced that the person has a “substantial likelihood” of committing “great bodily harm” or fleeing the jurisdiction if released.
quote:
Boudin’s policy prevents prosecutors from recommending pretrial detention without supervisor approval, in an effort to foster the presumption against it.

This DA...
Child of violent leftist terrorists
Raised by violent leftist terrorists
Backed by Soros
And he’s just one of thousands of Soros backed candidates at the local level.
DAs and Sheriffs are the new, quiet battleground for the future of America.

The police in SF are just going stop catching these frickers if he isn’t going to put them behind bars.
And when some major exec gets killed in a mugging, this will be why.

This is what San Francisco's citizens wanted.
Why should I care about their mess?

I love it
I'm ready to sit back and watch that place implode, although I home my family out there doesn't get caught in the middle of it.

Not taking up, but it could be that the California penal system grows as more magistrates begin to remand more people without jail. Unintended consequences.

I'm all for someone not being locked up until proven guilty. Cops and the system are more corrupt than any street gang.

You should only care about it coming to a state or locality near you.

The only thing keeping this place afloat is the insane amount of money. The nightlife in SF is balls awful. Mostly because all the youths have no money to go out.
which is fine by them. Most are here to build resumes and move on. So no one really gives a shite long term about the city. and the ones that do are a bunch of whiny nimbys ironically speeding about its demise with bullshite like Chesa and such. and the ones with the money are literally insulated from it all. Dont see too many folks in Tiburon stepping on shite, is what im trying to say.
