I think he made a good point. Mixing sports with politics is really stupid and is for the easily manipulated (on both sides). The black athletes which comprise the majority of college and pro football and basketball players probably see the issues or the day from a much different prospective than you. He gave you some good advice. You might want to check out the swimming and golf teams too.

He's a talented player who doesn't care at all about the game. It is an absolute struggle for him to give full effort. Emotionally, he's either high or low.
He quit the game once. He'll be let go after this year and won't be signed by anyone even though he still has the ability to be productive. He's a consistent underachiever. That wasn't always the case but the fire left him years ago.
