Your meme perfectly illustrates my point. No doubt you are too dense to understand how.

So he had a long distinguished career of fricking up everything he touched and then suck at the defense contractor tit before coming back and fricking up everyting he touched.

If your point is that experience is actually important, especially in a position like SoD.

Hegseth was hired because he looks good on TV, not because he was the best person for the job.

Why do you believe Hegseth is unqualified? What did Austin have that Hegseth didn't?

Before you answer, consider that Eisenhower was only one rank higher than Hegseth when WW2 broke out. Hegseth was a major and Eisenhower was a Lieutenant Colonel. Was Eisenhower not qualified to be the supreme allied commander because of his limited rank and resume?

(Hegseth) is the Secretary of War (not the Secretary of Defense).
The Constitution gives Congress the power to create executive departments and agencies, and the relevant legislation from Congress names THIS department as the "Department of Defense."

Thus, Trump cannot legally change its name to "Department of War" by fiat.

I know that upsets his loyal minions. Sorry.

Hopefully that’s the closest our military ever comes to looking like stormtroopers (masks and face masks). Jesus, DEMs were just trying to make our military look like bitches during CO-VID.

Which has exactly ZERO relevance to the question of Hegseth's qualifications.

Do try to focus.

I just want to make a statement that no one should smack Mark Kelly upside the head with the force of Thor. Assault is illegal and illegal is bad so don't anyone try to smack Mark Kelly upside his stupid head.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

The one developed by the Trump administration? The one that he said the military would “deploy every plane, truck and soldier required” to distribute? That one?

Yeah, that's the one. It's also the one that Biden forced service members to take or be separated from the military. Was that a lawful order, to mandate that the military take an untested vaccine or lose their careers? Are you going to answer the question this time or deflect

Already covered.....show me the same for Hegseth

quote:

graduated from the United States Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree and a commission in the Infantry. He holds a Master of Arts degree in counselor education from Auburn University, and a Master of Business Management from Webster University. He is a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic and Advanced courses, the Army Command and General Staff College, and the Army War College.

His 41-year career in the Army included command at the corps, division, battalion, and brigade levels. Mr. Austin was awarded the Silver Star for his leadership of the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division during the invasion of Iraq in 2003. Seven years later, he would assume the duties of Commanding General of United States Forces – Iraq, overseeing all combat operations in the country.

After a tour as the Army’s Vice Chief of Staff, Mr. Austin concluded his uniformed service as the Commander of U.S. Central Command, responsible for all military operations in the Middle East and Afghanistan. In this assignment, he led U.S. and coalition efforts to battle ISIS in Iraq and Syria. He retired from the Army in April, 2016.

Following his retirement from military service, Mr. Austin served on the Boards of Directors for Raytheon Technologies, Nucor, and Tenet Healthcare.

I suggest you do a tiny bit of research on what Eisenhower did in the 25 years between graduating West Point and the outbreak of WWII. If you did you would know that the experience he gained during those years is vastly more than Hegseth's. He worked directly for some of the greatest leaders of his generation and became an expert in logistics. You would also know that promotions during the depression came much, much, slower than today.

Let's be real, Hegseth should never be in the same conversation as Eisenhower. That is just laughable.

Deflecting again?

This thread is about Hegseth's lack of qualifications for SoD. It seems that some folks here want to talk about anything butthat.

Wrong again faggie newcomer! Secretary of war is a cabinet position which Trump chooses and congress approves.
