The local residents thing is likely cover. There has been chatter on a potential attack for almost a week now. CIA/MI5 have been watching.

I hate this guys overhype and calling every tweet Breaking. But he gets the info. Sounds like we knew ahead of time. My question, was it US intel that discovered the plot?
MAJOR BREAKING: President Trump CONFIRMS a group of terrorist were ARRESTED in the UK after they tried blowing up RAF Fairford Base — home to both US and UK troops
"They were looking to do big damage to our fort...we had them under view for a long time. AND WE GOT 'EM."
"The arrests in the UK was fantastic. Working with Britain, it was an AMAZING job. We had them under investigation."
THANK GOD THEY WERE CAUGHT!!
That could've been a MAJOR terror attack. Multiple vans caught, bomb squads moved in, arrests made and evacuations
Pray for every troop on that base!
Thankfully the UK sprung into action with the US to make it all happen.

Interesting they are not at higher threat level because that would mean better vetting of invaders:

hired?) box vans, and the Robot examining one of them, they would seem to have been intercepted as they were making their way to the Air Base perimeter at a point where USAF Bombers would be landing or taking off.
It's pure speculation but three vans packed with high explosive and remotely detonated would have introduced a new peril on UK shores and certainly taken out the arriving or departing aircraft.
Alarmingly the UK is still not on the US threat level of Delta but one stage below.
Clearly if the UK was on the highest threat level than all incoming or invading foreign undocumented males of military age arriving on rubber dinghies would not have the Human Right Act level of protection and the Royal Navy could do what they do best Defence of the Realm.
The question now is has Mr Burnham got the motivation and courage to take a major decision to fully protect our island country?
Perhaps we will find out at the Labour Party conference later this week as today the Prime Minister has cancelled all his engagements....watch this space. History is being written as we speak...

If they had not used matching white vans and instead dressed up these trucks so avoid suspicion this would have been an absolute disaster for us. Thank god these idiot terrorists have an IQ of 2.
