I STRONGLY recommend staying for a few days at the Albemarle Estate on the property. It’s makes for an incredible experience. They opened up a Cidery across the street and we watched a bald eagle fly across the property with hundreds of American flags along the fence line.
I adore the Charlottesville area and would love to retire there if I could get the right real estate. My step mother’s sister used to breed race horses and had a large farm just outside the area. Used to love going to spend a week or 2 there.
Thanks for the recommendation. That sounds like a great long weekend couples trip.

24 hour pool, indoor and outdoor hot tub, sauna. Ask for the suite that has the giant bathtub for 2 in the center of the bathroom.
They have an incredible dinner that you have to reserve ahead of time. I had roasted duck and it was incredible. It gets pricy in the fall($900/night) but in the $200 range during the spring.
