Do you think her getting pushed as a senator is a good thing and if so why or why not?

If you’re just arguing that hiring from within the system is a bad idea I get that, most congressmen are worthless too. I wouldn’t support one based purely on having been elected before, I’d want to see their voting record.

I’m just saying that qualifications of some sort matter otherwise you get a bunch of Bush family types propped up by the GOPe machine and I’m personally opposed to that.

Help me understand what you’re trying to say here.

MAGA had little say in the matter if SC was constantly going to reelect him. Him or his sister… SC has to sort itself out.

She is not qualified. I saw her interview with Hannity. I am sorry for her loss and her family's loss. However, that said, I would vote for her over the DSA/Democrat option 1000 out of 1000 opportunities. Unqualified is better than despicable evil, which is what the party of the left continue to foist as their option. That said, the Republican Party must do better with candidate selection.

Please explain to the room what qualifications and requirements are needed to be a US senator.

Again I’m not defending her or this appointment but you guys can stop talking about imaginary qualifications that meet your standard in a worthless congress. Please also let us know whom from South Carolina you’d rather have so we can see who they are.

People claim to love democracy but pick and choose what undemocratic things they support. Cleo Fields bad. Handing seats to the relatives of dead guys good.

The qualifications for US senator have fallen dramatically since the 17th amendment was signed. Now, the senator is just a much more popular person than a congressman.

Until a US SENATOR is elected by their respective state legislatures the USA will continue to slide. MSM (Lying Media) will not like losing those campaign dollars.

Why not? Most of the Socialist pigs the Democrats are moving to, never held office and don’t have any qualities worth voting for.

She's 30, she is a citizen and she lives in SC. What do you think the qualifications for office are?

Nepotism must not be accepted. It is killing this country.
Anyone that can legally hold the office should not be barred from running. So her brother was Ms Lindsey, she will have to convince the voters of SC that she can do the job.

You dont think an immediate endorsement from DJT who had just impacted how many senate primaries made any difference?

No. I can vote for Trump and call him out when he does stupid stuff.

I don't know what Trump truly feels, but handing out an endorsement to the sister who was then given the seat makes Trump look like he's fully in control and compassionate at the same time. It's about the optics, and that's always a driving force for Trump, good or bad.

The waitress I talked to at lunch is technically qualified for Senate.

Doesn't mean she's someone who should be pushed for office.

The typical things people would look for are competence in a business role or past accomplishments in a political role that make you want to support them.

What specific achievements does she have that make you think she should be the GOP pick for the office after the interim term runs out?

You do realized that virtually every candidate Trump "publicly backed" this year still had to face a primary vote, right?

On the other hand, Kamala and Platner part 2 did/will not.

If "compassion" was what he wanted that he could've accomplished that by encouraging them to let her serve out the term.

But Trump has proven he can make or break primaries.

If he wanted someone else to serve the next full term he could've accomplished that in SC easily.

Instead he at best made an emotional decision based on his personal friendship with a guy who had a terrible voting record.

The end result is the defacto extension of the political career of a guy who should've been primaried out of office a decade plus ago but who made a career out of being the deep state ambassador to Trump.

Virtually no GOP candidate can win a primary right now if Trump endorses someone else.

He is the GOP kingmaker and everyone post Massie knows it.

Whether that translates to general elections we wont know until the midterms.
