Again...I don't. As per the example I gave earlier about my son's high school English class reading Ernest Gaines, "the word" was used in many places historically, and when we encounter it we can't freeze like a deer in headlights unable to move forward in a passage of literature or be terrified to say it because everyone will freak out like someone in the Harry Potter universe saying "Voldemort." That's nonsense.

Should people be saying all willy nilly? I mean, I have no use for it because I don't go the racial slur route if I'm going to insult someone. I can honestly say I don't get offended by anything. I really don't care if others do, whether they be black or white. If they do, I'd judge them the same way I would some other a-hole who uses inappropriate language in mixed company, etc.

That's why I think the best course of action is to demystify "the word" and any word like it (rather than continuing to ADD to the list of forbidden words like we're doing) and refuse to accept that people have become so fricking soft that simply hearing or seeing a word...or worse, seeing or hearing come from a person that's the wrong shade, makes them crumble in agony or violently lash out. By attempting to make words fade away, that's the road you inevitably set up.
