Sounds like 2 subpar candidates in a country that Americans used to hate a couple years ago. Why all the attention now?

From an economic standpoint, wouldn't it benefit the US if the EU was slightly less influential and powerful?

You reap what you sow. Europeans have been Socialists for a long time and they are apparently willing to be subjugated my Muslims.

I'm sure it's not part of any discussion of trends in politics.

France needs someone who cares about it's national identity. Nothing matters as much as that.

Well considering one guy just got 65%, it seems like he represents their national identity.

How does believing that make me insane?

Is the influx in the Muslim population in France false?

Well, guess the only way I get to see France is when I get deployed there to fight ISIS.

I say this because my assumption is that france will be considered part of the ME in a year or two.

GOOD GOD the histrionics in this place.

Hm. I would think at the minimum France would halt immigration with all the stuff that has happened to them. Oh well...

I mean, they've had consistent North African immigration since the 1960s. They've taken in around 14,000 Syrian refugees, which is less than the number the US has taken. Demographic predictions have consistently overstated the Muslim population, which is still at less than 10%. 20 years ago the demographics predicted that France would be 20% Muslim.

They do need to do something about their integration issues, but France isn't going to be taken over by ISIS ever, let alone a year or two from now.

There's no question that Obama gave him a big boost. Macron is France's "pizza baker".

Lol @ the next terrorist attack. They're having to build a terrorist proof wall around the Eiffel Tower. They're a lost cause.

That's bull. Clearly a bunch of sp called conservatives supporting a candidate with a bunch of fundamentally Anti-conservative, liberty denying positions halfway around how world know better.

They sound a lot like the left-wing extemists, huh?

I guess they're comfortable with rampant terrorism and economic collapse. They'll learn and le Pen will be elected in 2022,
