I agree and am fine with the lack of help
Alliances are changing. That happens.

This makes no sense, considering that France has spent the last 25 years invading, fighting, and bombing the shite out of Muslims in various parts of the Arab/North/West African world world to an extent only surpassed by us.

Then you don't get any product coming from there.

I truly can’t figure out if this board wants the transatlantic alliance to end or not.
Personally, I don't care and understand if France opts to sit this one out. What I find detestable is the lack of consistency when they say they'll be happy to help as soon as things are easy for them benefit from it.
If you're not going to do the dirty work, don't go thinking you have a seat at the table when things are easy. If you want out, stay out. If you want in, be in for the ugly stuff. Just be consistent.

Sure you can and really it exposed just how vulnerable the EU is and how little they have invested in their military across the board. France has done better than most, but frick em.

Not sending ships to the Strait of Hormuz is not an indiciation that they couldn't do so. France already has ships in the region--they aren't deploying them for this. So do several other nations.

Thats why French rifles are the best
Never fired.......only dropped once

What?
Do you know what our goals are? The answer changes regularly.

I just read an Al Jazeera article that mentioned some French tankers are allowed to pass. If true, I wouldn't want to poke the hornet's nest either.

Yep, they're scared of certain portions of their citizenry, which they absolutely should be. That's only going to get worse.

The goals have been stated regularly. Disagreeing with them does not equal they are not being shared. Some results can change during a conflict based on progress and movement of war. What may have seemed improbable before a conflict begins is not a stated goal, can become a targeted goal later.
Do you just stop after attaining a goal especially if it was done sooner than expected, or do you add on/expand a goal?
However, they haven't changed much from their listed goals since the beginning. Trump may be bombastic, or hyperbolic, but their goals have been consistent.

Don't blame him. By the looks of hundreds of videos out of France in the last few years there is no telling how many radical muslims and extremists they have in their country ready to do who knows what. France certainly doesn't know how many.
They will end up with people run down in vehicles, stabbed to death, heads cut off, etc... all over France if hthey are seen as attacking Iran in any way.
The completely open border policy has them royally fricked and scared shitless. He just doesn't realize that shite is going to happen at some point regardless... they want France.

French pre-emptively wave the white flag

Then what are they? I've heard imminent attacks, nuclear program, regime change, preemptive strike to limit capability because Israel was going to provoke them, etc.
Maybe all of it are the goals, and just poorly thought out. But the admin has not messaged it well at all. The message is different every day and between each person speaking. And regardless, the lack of apparently attainable goal in the current force posture (i.e., airstrikes alone) is why the Europeans want no part of it.

Did it ever occur to some of you that the US could lose this war?

Countries that export oil to these countries that won't help should tax the frick out of them.
