LSU just can't recruit quality minority candidates b/c they always get into 2-3 tiers above their tests/LSAT. A black female with my scores would have easily gotten into Yale or Harvard (b/c they are just as desperate to recruit them and are obviously a better tier of school).

So what? You are defining the problem.

See - lawyer - they all support this shite.

They didn't even hide them in Engineering, they do hide the special business classes though.

This. I wish I could say that I'm surprised, but it's exactly what I expected from Tate.

When was this? I didn’t realize they’d dropped GMAT.

As of 2019 it wasn’t required. It was all part of the holistic approach to admittance into not only LSU, but Graduate level programs.

Honestly Tate has made a lot of solid moves prior to this.

no matter race or gender it's pretty insane we employed a dean Memphis disapproved of

What are you talking about?
Anyone who has gone to LSU Law within, at least the past 20 years, knows what I said is 100% correct.

There is nothing controversial or woke. LSU Law will lose its accreditation if they don't recruit marginalized populations. The ABA has made this clear.

I stumbled across one of the secret law tutoring classes for minority students at LSU Law in 1992, so it has been going on for quite a while.

Here's the point I will continue to hammer home:

Where are you, Louisiana GOP? You have a supermajority in the state assembly yet have failed to get this under control. Florida and North Carolina have just re-established control over their state universities, yet our worthless state government has done nothing. Until the Louisiana GOP and Jeff Landry (who is probably the king of being utterly useless) actually start taking steps to fix the universities and do something about crime, none of them will be getting my vote.

The next governor of LA should replace the President of LSU, and this new dean. Candidates for the next governor of LA should be asked, directly, whether they will replace the President of LSU, and this new dean.

Thank you for raising this point. Jeff Landry has offered no solution for this, nor has he said anything about crime. (He even dodged a question from Tucker about it). No one cares that Landry has joined some useless suit against the Biden admin or is talking about books that nobody reads in libraries nobody visits.

Why would he? He can’t replace anyone in state colleges for at least 3 years because of the way boards are structured.

College reform is a second term issue. Plenty of other targets for a new governor.

That said, I get your larger point about being light in policy details.
