lol. Man, read my posts again.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I'll boil it down even more; These protests, BLM, are going to do next to nothing to actually improve the lot for the vast majority of Black lives.

There are MUCH larger issues causing the disparities that the Left always complain about, but never actually address.

A big part of the solution is to figure out how to keep more young men out of jail and then get those young men to work hard, marry, raise children to work hard in school, stay off the streets and be successful. Father and mother stay together and build some wealth and accumulate some property to pass along to their kids. Overtime the family builds wealth and hopefully the next generation is better than the previous.

That is the only way to build wealth that will last.

If criminal justice reforms can help kids to not get a criminal record early in life that keeps them out of the work force or puts them in jail at an early age then that may help.

But it still comes down to making individual choices. No police reform or criminal justice reform can force a person to make good individual choices that lead to success in life. You learn that from your family, parents and mentors. Not from politicians and activists.

If you isolate a tiny portion of black victims ( 1/100th of 1 % ) and pretend that’s the crisis and simultaneously ignore the herd of elephants that is black on black crime standing in your living room you obviously seem disingenuous. Particularly when you frame it as “Black Lives Matter “. If that’s truly the case, SHOW US by not continuing to kill one another with scandalous frequency.

4 years ago Black Lives Matter killed 3 policemen in Baton Rouge and now LSU is tweeting in support of them. Amazing times we live in.

If LSU did not stand up against the examples of bad policing that have been raised, especially by Chauvin you could kiss your winning football team good bye.

If you take two sides to an argument the truth is the answer is somewhere in the middle.

What we are seeing is the results of Bill Clinton’s and the Democrats crime bills and the three strikes your out policies and the war on drugs finally come to a head. This is the result of a couple generations of families without fathers and the perception and reality in many cases that the system police/courts prisons removed family members from these communities and out of their families for many times frivolous minor drug or other minor offenses like shoplifting. That anger and resentment has been bottled up into these incidents Lomé this and has been simmering for several years now and finally reached the boiling point.

You make assertions.I know they are incorrect so I rebut those assertions not with slurs or insults but with crimes stats

The problem is that you attempted to rebut them with dated, one sided crime statistics that serve your argument and perpetuate negative stereotypes and tropes about the black community. What if a Bama fan used statistics from the 90’s to argue LSU has a terrible football program?

I appreciate you being willing to say black lives matter; that’s no small thing on this site. But if you believe that, why engage in these devil’s advocate distractions in the first place? Why assume that black folks don’t get upset when black people kill other black people? Spend a minute in a black church or community center or walk the halls of a HBCU and you’d know that black people work tirelessly to combat violence in our communities. Not because there is an epidemic, but because murder is wrong.

So when your response to outrage at a black man being murdered in the streets by a cop for no reason is, “well why don’t you get mad when a black man kills another black man?” excuse me if that doesn’t sound a little bit. . . Wait for it . . . Racist

Gavin Long was a US Marine Sargent. Y’all conveniently seem to forget that. Coincidentally him, Micah Johnson, and Christopher Dorner were all ex-military, and took up arms against who they were trained by our government to perceive as terrorist, but now y’all want to vilify them.

In the 1950s blacks surpassed whites in 2 parent households and new small businesses ownership. What happened in the 60s and since then that completely dismantled and reversed all the progress that was made?

Remember all of those protests about it?

Yeah, neither do I.

It's not just Blacks we're talking about who ignore the underlying problems. We're talking about the SJWs who are on "your side", that never have protests about these kinds of things.

Wow, I’ve seen all manner of spin but this is on a totally new level in terms of pure bullshite. Long is on video claiming he was hunting white cops and hated white people. It had nothing to do with PTSD or imagined terrorist.

Gavin Long was an incel. There is an episode of Sword and Scale that has all his loony rants. He murdered my old coach’s son, who I’d known my whole life. He was legitimately disturbed, half crazy half ideological.

Also, Are you suggesting that spree murderers Shouldn’t be vilified ?

I though y’all were all for extrajudicial killings. Or does that only apply when the deceased is a civilian?

Shh.. accurately describing the murder of police officers is now whitewashing the incident. These people are mindless golems.

Ironic. The earlier poster hammered me for not giving a lengthier range of crime data and you hammered me for not giving a more current one. I have provided BOTH on this thread.

Also, if every problem in your life has the same answer ( you are a racist ) you may be a highly dishonest ideologue . You should consider learning to argue your points honorably and without racial animus.

And for the record, my response was to call the cop a murderer on this board. And to make my teens watch the Heartbreaking video. You don’t get to make up your own facts or revise my arguments to fit your “ Imma call everybody a racist” lazy narrative. Grow up. Better yet, respect yourself and argue your point with a sense of mutual respect and personal honor. You can do it.
