so you found a study that says people who view illegals as threats tend to harbor negative emotions about them?
fricking groundbreaking!
what about people on social media that view Trump as a threat? Are they potentially violent too? Seems so.

I support you choosing to spend your time on Twitter watching shorts. That’s not how I chose to spend my time.

They would probably fall into the emotionally-driven camp, as well. Anyone who consumes social media and reacts emotionally would belong in that category, regardless of the topic or candidate.

Illegal Migrants are “Paying cash for houses”
1. Where are they getting that kind of cash?
2. If you or I tried to buy a house for cash, it’d set off 100 different kinds of alarms…yet these people do it and the authorities apparently don’t bat an eyelash.
And that’s the answer to my first question; the authorities KNOW where they’re getting the cash.

Interesting.
Know what influences my attitude towards illegal immigrants?
They broke the law to come here and freeload, combined with the fact that just being here illegal is a felony and they often commit even more crimes after arriving here, plus the legal immigrants who have done things the right way are put on a back burner.
Contrary to the media narrative and the absolutely ridiculous and disingenuous narrative you have spectacularly failed to promote, there is absolutely ZERO "anti-immigrant" sentiment that is prevalent right now. We have no issue with immigrants. We overwhelmingly support immigration, which is a foundational cornerstone of American culture...
We are anti-ILLEGAL-immigration.

They're not. That is clearly bullshite and why all of these stories have to be taken with a grain of salt.

Or, hear me out, the story is not truthful.

Did I suspect grown men who are mostly much older than me would lose their shite over a study posted without commentary?
Possibly.

Next thing you know, you'll be psting that those who have sex with children or animals are Mensa members

So people that view another group as a threat are more likely to harbor negative emotions towards that group?
In other breaking news:
People that don't like cheese are less likely to eat cheese.
People with negative opinions on alcohol are less likely to hang around alcoholics.
Is this the brilliant logic that is considered science nowadays?

Wouldn’t that just confirm the study though? Grown people getting g so emotionally charged over something they saw on social media and letting their emotions cloud their thoughts?
I agree with the posters who basically responded “duh.” I have a fear of raccoons. If I see a picture of a rabid raccoon on social media, I’m going to react emotionally. This isn’t ground breaking, it’s common sense.

Maybe before we start worrying about Americans hurting illegals, which really isnt happening, academia can expend a little effort on uncovering left-wing political violence considering we've had 2 Trump assassination attempts, AZ rally goers gassed, and trans mass shootings just in the last few weeks.
seems like a better use of their time. I bet they never do it, which sort of tells you all you need to know about the bias behind the research you've linked.

Okay I see that you're mad and I understand it in a lot of ways you feel like you're the lone She Wolf fighting for whatever you represent against whatever we mean angry men are
I also rail against the stupidity of many of the Poli Board posters so I cant take issue with your practice even though I still cannot figure out your purpose
as for this thread,
All low cognitive ability people are easily manipulated by social media
The Trigender Bunny rabbits that think that trans are being hunted in the streets
they are being manipulated by social media
regardless of issue , low cognitive people are easy to manipulate duh
you're representing this argument as proof of something I don't think that ultimately anybody is arguing
that social media can be used to manipulate people especially those of low I Q
that is and of itself it not evidence the unfettered immigration is not bad for our nation,, including women and children
if you are willing to argue the benefit of unfettered immigration versus the risk of unfettered immigration then let's do so but before we do
I'm not low IQ I am you don't think you are, IF you want to discuss it..lets discuss it
I would like you to answer my question from a couple of days ago if you think that Western civilization and our society does such a bad job of protecting women, children, the weakest in society and other social ills please give me a society that does better
Or are you going to disappear for the next few days until you come across a random article that you feel makes a point in your war against the angry men of the Poli board
And as a conservative Christian man who worked in government and politics for over 40 years, I'm offended that you think I don't care about the vulnerable in our society because I have done things
there are records of work projects and efforts that I've committed to that have helped where we can
the problems are too big for just little ol me
but I don't appreciate you throwing me in on here as an unfeeling and uncaring I Just believe there are better ways that are proven
to actually help those who deserve help than giving help to everybody that wants it
You may think I'm wrong but how dare you just label me hateful
Even just on this board over the years I have proven myself to be compassionate and you have been the benefit of some of that compassion so how dare you now forget the things that I did for you previously and call me hateful
you're ungrateful
