So the Judicial branch will decide that another branch Legislative branch can cut funds that it controls to the same Judicial Branch.
What do you think is going to happen.
Is that what is happening here? Personally I do not think they can cut if the funds were issued in a past law or bill. If they do they would have to pass another bill or law to do this and not have a big problem in our government. I think it is crazy to not give judges the money to operate. You just throw them in jail if they are misappropriating

So in 1974 when there was a carve out exception for New Orleans that benefited them that was okay but when it’s used to dismantle duplicity it’s not okay anymore is what you implied ?

How the heck did this benefit New Orleans? The exception makes it easier for the State to remove officials in New Orleans than in every other parish.
So how is New Orleans being treated like every other parish by Landry? Why is he threatening to treat New Orleans like other parishes while still targeting New Orleans for political bullshite?

Remember when you tried to use the LA state constitution we haven’t used in over 100 years as justification for why what happened today is illegal? (Reality - legal under today’s constitution)?

It was a deal done during Moon’s term, as at the time N O had the biggest power in the state with all the tourism, oil companies and the biggest economy overall. The N O influence was huge and they used that to their advantage but obviously has diminished greatly. The deal struck doesn’t suit them now after 50 years of taking advantage of it but yes blame it on the state to consider using it’s strengths to curtail N O drag on the state

The entire court system in New Orleans is fricked. I think it’s the reason New Orleans makes me so pissed off.
I do zero criminal work- but if the criminal court is WORSE than the civil clerk - I just cannot imagine the general level of anarchy that goes on there. It totally explains the crime problem.
Every time I have something pending in Orleans I physically go to the Courthouse to file documents if it’s something important. They literally just lose things. Like you send it there. You know it went there. And they lose it. They have their own online filing system, because “they’re Orleans” and it’s mystifying. God forbid they use the same one as the rest of the state. They’re special. Their courts are just special, you see.
If you go there -there are a million ppl standing behind the clerk’s counter and each one of them has a different idea of what needs to happen for something to make it into the court record.
The building is an absolute dump. The elevators smell like pee, and I’m terrified to take the stairs.
Good luck getting the Civil Sheriff to serve anything or do anything, or a straight answer about when anything is scheduled to happen.
And God help you if you get sued there, bc there is no chance whatsoever for a fair shake- from a judge or a jury. Or if you have to sue anyone, it’s hopeless, bc your lawsuit will just go into a black hole. It’s honestly a joke. Good luck getting a hearing. Or a trial. Whichever side you’re on. And if you have to do either a trial or a hearing, nothing that’s written down in any law book will help you. Because they have special rules there, and the rules that apply to the rest of us, do not apply to in Orleans. And the rules are all different, depending on who you ask.
There is no order. No reason. It’s a third world country. Something needs to happen to that government writ large, and until it is reformed from top to bottom, the entire city/parish needs to be run by the state until they can get their shite together. If they don’t like it, they can just fund themselves.
