I'm not evaluating. I was just actually curious. When he said he had "dozens" that struck me as strange.

Bunch of sensitive snowflakes around here today.

That thing looks like it cost a lot of people some fingers and eyes. Looks like it would light every chamber in that cylinder at one time.

Did you read the article? Never said I was a gun expert at all, but from my experience and stats the survival rate or damage between being shot by an AR 15 or anything in that class and handguns aren't comparable.

Honest question for military guys or maybe one of you Baws with cash to burn. How many rounds could you put through an AR-15 or any of the weapons mentioned here before you worry about your barrel? No smartass agenda or "gotcha" honestly asking.

Typical AR barrel you are looking at around 400 rounds to failure but there are different barrels, different barrel linings, etc that can increase that... Cheaper models it can decrease of course... Also depends on the burn of the ammo...

Why do you need "dozens" of magazines for 5 rifles?
The 2A is part of the Bill of Rights, not hte Bill of Needs.

Why does one need a website that has millions of users? When the Constitution was written printed handbills were good enough..

Well. OK. Since BamaAtl is applying "logic", I now agree with Bama.

Bama needs to supply justifications to the government for everything he owns over and above food and clothing to get through 3 days.

Bama should not gripe about said requirement because, well.........nukes.

Iraqveteran8888 just full auto tested a cheap palmetto state and it went like 460 rounds. They did a piston gun and it went over 600 I think

Yes, I read the article and quite frankly, I do not need to be a trauma surgeon to know that typically, I can do more damage to the human body with a rifle than I can with a handgun... Especially when you compare it to a 9mm handgun... However, if someone is shot with a FMJ 5.56mm and another person of same body mass is shot in the same location with a 9mm Hollow Point, you are going to see more damage from the 9mm...

So, like I said before, you don't know shite about firearms and you are no more qualified to speak on the subject as the garbage man that spends hours on the range...

Why does that strike you as strange? How much shooting do you do?

Only if it's not black and scary. That's what makes the AR so powerful.

That's fine, but your inability to imagine a perfectly possible scenario where being able to load multiple magazines would be useful does not mean everyone else has that limit to their vision.

The world is replete with examples of times where having that ability would be nice.

And, even in our "stable" nation, Korean store owners in L.A. in 1992 recognized the need to defend themselves from the mob when the police could not.

That's the thing about stuff like this. If the first time you decide to get it is when you figure out you need it, you are probably fricked.

With the exception of the 22 LR the 5.56, what most AR's shoot, is probably the weakest round most of us will own in a long gun. It has less than half the kinetic energy of the 30-06 which is the most common rifle cartridge in the US. Or maybe the old lever action 30-30 would be safer, nope same kE of the AR. If you restrict the AR cartridge or "anything of that caliber or speed" then you efectively restrict every hunting rifle on the planet.

I mean the bastard was basically standing 300 feet in the air and shooting into a small lake. Not that tough. I was speaking to the difficulty or nuisance of having fire one pull at a time. As opposed to just spraying. Which is what he did.
