People who derive their identity from any politician at any level of any party are mentally ill and need your help and support but not necessarily your friendship.

I dunno.

I think that there's only so much you can take of someone who claims to be your friend calling everything you believe "racist" (or some other ist)but then saying, "but I'm not calling YOU racist".

That's a bull shite distinction without a difference.

If you're going to run around calling me a racist, you're not my friend and you shouldn't be my friend.

That is not an unusual occurrence.

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

One was a good friend for 20 years, a black guy, who said he "though I was a good person" and now unfriended me from FB and hasn't talked to me in months.
And on another note, so many people repeat the same rhetoric "Trump hates women, is racist, anti Semitic etc....don't they all sound like sheep after a while all repeating the same thing the media feeds them?? I had a friend just recently yell at me about how much "Trump hates women". I told them he treats everyone who attacks him the same....it has nothing to do with him hating women....they just say I am naive and in denial.

Hmmm, sheople allowing themselves to be willfully herded in whatever direction the establishment media intends.

Luckily, that could never happen to you, amirite?

I agree. I was sort of being coy about the mentally ill-support thing. Some people have just gone off the reservation politically.

I needed to stay on social media for my business, but I unfollowed everyone on FB and don't read Twitter (except sometimes I see James Woods' tweets in my Gmail social tab--he is a trip). I'm genuinely happier since I did that.

I have defriended only one person ever. A former client whom I saved tens of thousands of dollars in penalties when he didn't pay his workers comp insurance. He never paid me a dime. He would constantly curse and call me names on my page after I asked him not to curse due to family members, numerous times.

We don't need that negativity--

That's why you don't put TOO much political shite on Facebook.

The election and aftermath really did me in as far as it comes to facebook. A little group I'm in that meets every two weeks has a page and that's really about all I go to facebook for anymore- and that averages to about 5-10 minutes a week maybe.

I've stopped following folks, unfriended a few (that I truly didn't give a shite about in the first place). I'm contemplating voting against someone I actually like in the next local election simply because I think his son is the epitome of political psychopath due to his facebook postings.

In a nutshell, politics killed facebook for me.

Never talk the following:
1. Religion
2. Politics
3. Race
4. Abortion
5. Notorious BIG vs Tupac

Yup. One of my longtime friends was a Bernie head and removed me after the election.

Turns out a mutual friend of ours is getting married in October in Dallas. Mutual friend asked if I'd give Bernie Bro a ride since he's on the way and without car. I think I laughed for a good solid minute.

on the Notorious BIG v Tupac. I'd just say I was a NWA fan.

I kinda think religion is a better/easier/more congenial topic now than politics (unless we're talking Islam I suppose.)

Honest question- how often did you post political links or statements on FB? I get sick of seeing that crap on FB, whether it's pro left or right.

All of my friends are trump supporters, mainly because we have a lot in common. I don't see how I could be friends with an anti trump person. My job requires that I don't be a felon so I couldn't hang out and hit people with baseball bats like anti trump people like to do
