Backing the Ukraine against Russia over the Crimea is about the same as if Russia backed Mexico in an attempt to retake Texas. It has absolutely no chance of success, and will only I start a war

Wait...so we would back Ukraine in this deal? Yrs after the obama/biden admin let russian go in and take Crimea? That would be some sick dem chess right there.

Good analogy btw.

You left out the part where Obama/Biden meddled in the Ukrainian election big time... then proceeded to let their cronies and family go all corrupt in Ukraine... and Ukraine had or was about to sign a big land deal with China for farming Crimea (which is the only part of Ukraine worth that much)...

So between election interference, corruption in the oil and gas, and a land deal with China, Putin took the opportunity to drag his nuts on Obama/Biden and take control of land that would feed Russia...

Things have been heating up there for awhile. The Russians "capturing" Crimea was as simple as going outside and changing the flag. The Russian's influence on Crimea predates the Soviet Union and it is vital to their Black Sea Fleet. They would never allow it to be "taken over" by a hostile Ukraine.

The bridge over the Kerch Strait has been complete for some time now and I believe that pipelines for water are under construction.

Intense shelling in #Donbass region by ukranian forces .
The fight has already begun and "we are expecting" an official declaration of martial law from #Ukraine.

The war for Novorussia is a reality not a scenario!!!

The Ukrainians are unfortunately being used as a proxy to poke the bear by the EU & US with Soros organizing the color revolution that overthrew the elected Ukrainian government and soured its relationship with Russia.

Definitely worth keeping an eye on. If there is any reporting on it at all in the US it is obviously slanted.

Russia warned the West on Friday against sending troops to Ukraine to buttress its ally, after Kiev accused Moscow of building up a military presence on its border.

The United States had pledged on Thursday to stand by Ukraine in the event of Russian "aggression," after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of massing troops on the border.

Weeks of renewed frontline clashes have shredded a ceasefire and raised fears of an escalation of the simmering conflict in eastern Ukraine, where government forces are battling pro-Russian separatists.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia would be forced to respond if the US sent troops.

"There is no doubt such a scenario would lead to a further increase in tensions close to Russia's borders. Of course, this would call for additional measures from the Russian side to ensure its security," Peskov told reporters.

He declined to specify which measures would be adopted, while insisting that Russia was not making moves to threaten Ukraine.

"Russia is not threatening anyone, it has never threatened anyone," Peskov said.

On Friday, Russia said its armed forces would hold military exercises close to Ukraine's border in the country's south to practise defence against attack drones.

More than 50 battalion combat teams comprising 15,000 people will take part in those exercises and practise "interaction with electronic warfare and air defence units", the defence military told reporters.

On Thursday, the US warned Russia against "intimidating" Ukraine, with both Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken calling their Ukrainian counterparts to stress support.

Let's hope our new Secretary of Defense has had enough time to purge all of those freedom-loving extremists from our military.

This will be a good chance to see the 1st Tranny Brigade in action.

I wonder if they will allow CNN to tag along like they did during the first gulf war. Is Bernard Shaw still alive? He could do a play by play.

This is likely ground zero on WWIII or IV depending on how you count the Cold War.

This and a Biden/Harris admin won’t end well.

With Trump in the White House, relations with Russia were relatively stable, but now Joe Biden is in charge.

Biden is a hothead that is showing signs of advanced cognitive decline, and he is surrounded by a team of warmongers that are determined to put Russian President Vladimir Putin in his place.

The inmates are running the asylum, and it won’t take much of a mistake at all for things to go horribly, horribly wrong.

Obama/Biden pretty much did nothing back when this all started during their administration. Guess he will have to show us how he can manage to screw up trying to clean up a mess they helped make.
