Yep. Pretty sure it was the same company. It was around the time someone had posted a WYI or some shite on the OT about her and how she was brilliant and revolutionizing medicine. The more I read and the diagnostics they said they could do from a finger stick just didn't pass the smell test.

The sad thing is Walgreens had already started using them in their stores.. and people were using their faulty tests to make medical decisions... she’s lucky, I assume nobody has died because of that

I first read about her 2-3 years ago, and the article I read was rife with skepticism.
It reminds me of the housing crisis a bit. A lot of people saw it coming, but nobody who spoke up about it had enough of a platform to make a difference. By the time it was obvious what was happening, it was too late.

Moron, go read about the number of smart people on both sides of the political aisle that fawned over this girl and her bullshite story. George Schultz sat on the board of Theranos for years and couldn’t be hit with a fricking anvil that his grandson was trying to hit him with to see this woman's bullshite.

I know a lot of Progs and everyone of them think that Obama was the absolute best President in the history of our country. They absolutely adored him and Chewbacca. I do think their hatred for MAGA is partly due to their reverence for BHO. They were so close to liberal nirvana with HRC and Trump yanked it from their grasp. I do wonder if say Cruz was elected over HRC would the hatred be as intense?

Theranos' board: Plenty of political connections, little relevant expertise

It's not incompetence, it's malfeasance. These people didn't fail, they did their job perfectly: funneling public money to campaign contributers and sell corporations while increasing executive power and decreasing accountability.

Denton Cooley was the foremost Cardiac Surgeon on Earth. He also lost a ton of money in Cattle Investments. I'd have not sought Cooley out as an investment expert, but for Heart Surgery, there was none better.
Problem being, Obama would have hired Cooley as Ambassador for Livestock Entrepreneurship for the right donation in return. As you noted Mattis in Trump's cabinet, Trump brought Mattis in as Defense Secretary. Obama hired career politicians for the role. How do the relative successes thus far compare?
But in terms of the original point, Obamanomics, Obama was an economic dolt.

The point of the thread was that Obama was a dumbass for appointing Holmes. A lot of very smart people got scammed by Holmes and Obama was hardly alone in this.
