Before I saw the author I thought the topic was making fun of MAGA. They've had to be fairly, eh, flexible the past several days.

What's funny is pretending like this was anything other than capitulation to the bond market.

Can you give me his plan?

75 countries (last counted) ready to play. He's isolated chyna (good play).

Sounds like, he's going to work with what he's got.

He ran on it and I voted for it.

You think Kumala had a better plan or, idiots on here have a better plan?

The president keeps changing his mind about things so fast that no one even knows what his latest "deal" was.

Step 1: Trump issues tariffs.

Step 2: Countries ask to sit down to make a deal

Step 3: Trump pauses tariffs while deal making in process

Seems pretty logical to me. But no way a man that has been in the business world for 50 years has a plan on economic matters. Just NO WAY!

It is quite hilarious to see people actually think his goal is the big things he throws out. Lol, he just got a 10% on everyone and smoked china out as not negotiating. Lol, in the meantime he was able to get what he really wanted with people actually saying Trump backed down

For better or worse, I do think this is an architected business plan. This is a negotiation and curating an environment for your side to be put in the best position to win. You don't show your cards (to those who want Trump to announce his goal and every step of his plan), you have a response ready for a set of circumstances from your opponent, and whatever you say isn't always what you mean exactly.

Or maybe they said this is exactly what they were going to do. You have a massive severe case of TDS. Go take a walk

You made a serious assertion, can you expand on this claim?

How does this drive bond prices higher?

In fact this last announcement has driven up equities by a lot so there is no upward price pressure on bonds from the equities market.

His last move has done the opposite of what you are asserting, unless I'm missing something that I hope you can logically explain.

Nothing, and I mean nothing, from the die hards on here have given any indication that this is true. Five theories for the intent to tariffs were proposed, and a wait and see attitude took hold to see which one you all needed to settle on to say, “Aha! There it is!”

I haven't changed at all. I was against his tariffs back in 2016 as well and got a bunch of downvotes for it back then too.

Because "we" don't know.

Because present time and prior time actions show the plan.

I know you have high expectations for MAGA voters, but clairvoyance is much too high of an expectation.

What pivot? Most of us fully understand what he is doing here. I can explain how negotiations work if you want.

I expect conservatives to have a steady hand and logical thought, but none of this is happening right now. Multiple theories, multiple declarations of winning, and everyone is still trying to figure out what is going on.

You want to bring China to its knees, don’t threaten the rest of the world as a precursor to that. This whole thing has been a damn mess.

Now the tariffs are 10% for everyone and 125% for China. Is it just China you are worried about? It's my understanding Alibaba is going to be okay. IDK how, I just heard that statement from a friend that drop ships from Alibaba and their is some type of arrangement to avoid the tariff on these Chinese goods. IDK how exactly that works.

I'll give you a hint. When DJT negotiates we don't really always know what he wants exactly. We have some idea of his long term goal, but we don't know what steps he will take to achieve that goal. What I do know is that he just got a 10% deal on everyone with china isolated and people thought he was merciful and the market shot back up
