Even among Republicans, support for the Wall decreases as one moves closer to the US-Mexico border. Article
quote:

A new analysis of this data finds that 63% of Republicans who live less than 350 miles from the border support building the wall, compared with 34% who oppose the wall. Those who live at least 350 miles away from the border, by contrast, are more supportive of the wall (76% favor, 21% oppose).

I’m not from Texas, but I’m always surprised how against the wall a lot of Texas Republicans are.

It’s the same as how us southerners are called racists by a bunch of people in Northeastern states like Vermont who haven’t seen a black person in 6 months.

That is the poorest way to use that data. Good job of bringing negative information into a positive report.

Have an upvote for a nice try.

But here on the TD Poli Board, all facts that the natives find inconvenient will be roundly & soundly shouted down. Sad.

If you really want to drop the numbers, run them with GOP members of the Chamber of Commerce. They are all about promoting illegal immigration.

I saw the article and found it interesting. I tried to update the data but was not able to find anything. Perhaps you have more recent data that indicates a change?

It would actually be refreshing to see you involve yourself in a substantive discussion for a change.

I readily acknowledge that I have taken the position for years that those who actually interact with Mexican nationals (e.g. Texans) tend to have significantly fewer conceptual problems with their presence.

I'm not. Texas Republicans aren't the big government Republicans who are basically leftover Democrats you'll find in the southeast.

Polls in 2016 had Hillary winning , so I don't know how accurate this is. But , If this is accurate and people who live near the border don't want the wall , their states should have to fully fund the cost of the illegals.

I live well over 1000 miles from the border , why in the hell should I have to help pay for the criminals who flip their middle finger at our laws ?
