Let’s not forget that at least one, presumably more, jurors are not willing to convict her and that the odds are it is female jurors not wanting to convict. That’s at least more than ten percent of the women on the jury that don’t think she’s guilty.

Some people have said that some of his thinking about the government was correct but that has come from both sides of the aisle and is more about anti-government than it is about McVeigh

They know he is more presentable to the public at large, particularly suburban white women, which is probably the largest demographic in the country, than the collection of wackadoos they and the media want them to run. They also know it doesn't really matter what he says in the campaign because once in office he will just "support the team". For 40+ years even Democrats saw Joe Binden as a complete buffoon. Democrats are really good at circling the wagons and getting fully behind whatever candidate is selected. It is the Republicans that in-fight over who is or is not "conservative enough" and fracture their support enough to, on more than a few occasions, allow a D to win a race he/she shouldn't.
