Did men rally behind Chris Watts and make excuses for him, and I missed it all?

You only know the information the Xitter algorithm spoon feeds you.

Are people talking about this case in real life? I feel like this exists on the internet and algorithms.

Considering the time spent on the internet, what is "real life"?

My boomer coworker who constantly talks about the news brought it up at work once. I think my husband mentioned it to me the other day. A couple of my friends mentioned it but all these mentions were in passing, not in depth analyses. Like, “I watched part of the Lindsay Clancy trial today”

If they had any sense, they would've run Shapiro in 2024.

I'm not even sure that was an option in 2023-24. It seems like we already had white dudes and girls at $60,000 a year colleges yelling: "Free Free Free Palestine!"

Attack me instead of answering the question. Good job

I guess the mass support of Lindsay is only an internet thing too.

No way she really raised a million in a GFM

No way people are arrested for intimidating a jury for her

No way have there been hundreds of women wearing pink showing up outside of the courthouse daily

All of that stuff is only on the internet and not real

So yes, they are talking about it in real life

I’m sure he had supporters. He murdered his pregnant wife and their two daughters. It was very big news at the time.

Let’s not forget that at least one, presumably more, jurors are not willing to convict her and that the odds are it is female jurors not wanting to convict. That’s at least more than ten percent of the women on the jury that don’t think she’s guilty.

Chris Watts murdered his pregnant wife and two kids, then dumped them in an oil tanker because he was having an affair.

No one made any excuses for him. It's a really bad gotcha.

He has a girlfriend currently

Despite his horrific crimes, women were still writing him in jail, and now one moved to Wisconsin to be closer to the prison he is in and claims to be his GF. They have applied for permission to be married.

Men would NEVER rally around a murderer, especially not one around an ideology.

Wait, shite this one is brown and Muslim. He doesn’t count

I didn’t search for information about his supporters at the time, just like I’m not searching for information about Lindsay Clancy supporters. That’s your hobby when you don’t like the demographic.

it looks like most normal people aren’t devoting bandwidth to this trial or crime. It’s a fixation of the chronically online.

I wouldn’t know. I don’t live anywhere near the courthouse.

There’s a reason women are obsessed with murder podcasts and dateline or similar media.

No one has rallied around McVeigh

Some people have said that some of his thinking about the government was correct but that has come from both sides of the aisle and is more about anti-government than it is about McVeigh

Furthermore, no one excused his attack because he was a man with wacky hormones.

Keep trying, bro. You might get there eventually but I doubt it.

That is always your go-to. You should get new material for when you are trying to downplay things going against your narratives. You have become too transparent with the same old boring excuses.

He’s a young, straight white man with an average, skinny white wife and two daughters, and he’s not a communist. He's the complete opposite of the kinds of candidates and identities the party has emphasized and welcomed over the past decade.

They know he is more presentable to the public at large, particularly suburban white women, which is probably the largest demographic in the country, than the collection of wackadoos they and the media want them to run. They also know it doesn't really matter what he says in the campaign because once in office he will just "support the team". For 40+ years even Democrats saw Joe Binden as a complete buffoon. Yet, when they needed a candidate who could appeal to the people who didn't like Trump but didn't want to vote for some extreme nutjob, Joe suddenly became a highly intelligent stalwart of the Democrat party...even though in the 30 years he was in office before becoming VP he was anything BUT progressive according to the current standards of the Democrat party.

Democrats are really good at circling the wagons and getting fully behind whatever candidate is selected. It is the Republicans that in-fight over who is or is not "conservative enough" and fracture their support enough to, on more than a few occasions, allow a D to win a race he/she shouldn't.
