I don't disagree with any of this. Putting legal technicalities aside, I think there needs to be a lot of sunlight shone on these machines at the end of the day, for everyone's interest.
The lack of faith in our elections on this scale alone undermines our republic, to the extent it still exists.
A civil lawsuit with complete and open discovery could do just that.

No voting record to examine? Destruction of evidence because of laws regarding retention of records.
Faked audit logs? Tons of opportunities for forensic accountants to poke holes in the records and show fraud.
