Liberal logic on tax refunds is mind boggling

The fact that the WSJ would employ someone who wrote an article like this shows you how far the media has fallen.
quote:
He got a tax cut from the overhaul, as did two-thirds of American households. For 2018, his federal bill is $2,400 lower than in 2017. But his tax cut didn’t feel like one, he says, because he didn’t know that last year the Treasury Department lowered paycheck withholding for millions of workers in order to speed up delivery of the tax cuts.
quote:
So his customary tax refund of between $1,000 and $3,000 became a surprise tax bill of $785 this year. As a result, Mr. DeArment can’t use a refund to help pay for a trip to Eastern Europe or a new laptop, as he planned. Instead, he’s paying his tax due in installments.

I would say that part of the Trump tax plan is too complex for the liberal simpletons to understand but 75% of conservatives can’t figure that shite out either

Tax Refund and Eastern Europe should never be in the same sentence. Runs along Sam line as new car and earned income credit

Wow the WSJ should be ashamed of printing this. But, the sad truth is that Wall Street is full of rich, leftist, globalists that stand to benefit from this nonsense

Banking on a tax refund to fund your wants. That's some hood rat shite right there.

He owes a whopping $785 and has to pay in installments?
How is he even smart enough to have a job?

If he's paying that in installments, he's got bigger fricking problems.

This and he shouldn’t be traveling.

further proof that the payroll deduction is an evil, manipulative tool to breed passive sheep

I would have like the option to deny cut in withholding to be honest

This
The storms that rolled through yesterday took out my freezer. I just got back from Lowe’s after spending close to $700. That wasn’t a planned expense, but it sure as hell didn’t blow my budget. And I’m no international traveler or OT baller like the guy in the article.
Just anything they can come up with to paint orange man bad.
SMH.

What a dumb arse!
He gets an interest free loan of $785 from Uncle Sugar and he’s pissed that he didn’t bank the approximate $3,200 and make a little interest!
Simple solution. He needs to go to his employer and say, “I’m a dumbass, please withhold about $4,800 a year over and above what the law requires you to do.”
Now his weekly pay will be diminished by an additional 92.31 but if that makes the moron happy, I say go for it.
Obviously he likes to wait up to a year to get paid for his hard work!

Doesn't have $785 in cash on hand but was going to take a trip to Europe and but a laptop.

Just pathetic. If Trump had handed him $2400 cash in his hand they'd still find fault. Their opinions are worthless.

So this guy can’t go to Europe because he got no tax refund?
Poors can afford to go to Europe?

Way too smart to be a DemProgFilth sheep! You fail the entrance exam of: spend everything and hold out your hand for someone else's cash too. You'll never be Dem enough to qualify for their IranExpress Card until you learn to live in debt and without being free.
