Dude he's a paying customer. You should have let him watch the channel he wanted.
He was not watching the TV. They were unoccupied treadmill TV's. I should've made that known in my OP.

"Unoccupied treadmills" were where these TVs were.
No one was fricking watching them so there was no reason they had to be set to any particular channel.

I don't like Fake News getting ratings.

So you always change the channel on any TV you see not of Fox News, and the guy asking why you changed the channel is the triggered one?
1. Change channel to program you prefer
2. Gather name of employee to complain to his management
You see these as equal?

Agitate the agitators. It's a basic requirement of modern day citizenship.

Just tell him if he would like to have it on a certain channel all he has to do is ask. You can also just tell him that everyone asks for it to be changed to fox news anyways. You were just saving yourself some time.

Each treadmill has an individual tv the occupant can change the channel on. Out of about 50 TV's, these two were not being used and on CNN. This guy walked behind me and saw me changing it. It's not like I would do that if someone was actually watching the TV.

I changed the channel at a doctors office back last fall and another guy (who was on his laptop, not watching TV) asked why did I change it? I said because they dont have the outdoor channel so I put it on fox because the women on fox were hotter. And showed more leg.
He agreed. And we both laughed.

What's really fun, with using a phone that nobody suspects, is turning the TV off.

No you wouldn't, that's why you walked off.
People that exhibit passive aggressive behavior want to come off as looking hard, but will fold in confrontation. This is exactly what happened with you.

You're right man. Lose my job I pay my student loans back with over changing two unoccupied TV's and a nosy butthurt lib.

Leave it to a minimum wage worker to post about these things.

OK, Even I agree that what he did was unnecessary, but still in a business the customer is always right. You should have just said, "oh ok, I'll switch it back". Even if customers are assholes you always make them feel welcomed and cater to their needs.

How would you know that.
You could have civilly given the man 10 different reasons as to why you changed the channel, except you were too chickenshit to do so.
In the end, this gym patron learned more about you than you know about him.

That may still happen if you indeed did tell him you changed it because you work there and wanted to and reports you to management. I'd fire your arse for talking to a paying customer like that. The TV's are likely there for them, not your dumb arse.
