if you think a vote in Louisiana and a vote in Ohio are equal, idk what to tell you.
your vote counts the same in Louisiana as a person in Akron's vote counts in Ohio.
In your simple democracy scenario, a Louisiana vote would never count.
Ask your parents to explain it to you.

Ehh look at California cities, those people shouldn't get to completely dictate me living in a state of 4 million.

How does everybody feel about doing away with “electors”
Maybe I’m missing something basic but wouldn’t it be wiser to award the electoral points to a candidate for winning the majority of the votes in a state without the electors participating at all. That’s the part I’ve always found disturbing that is rarely discussed.

Trump won 2800 counties out of 3100 total in 2016 but lost the national popular vote. Why would you want 10% of the population centers decide a national election?
Why should 300 counties decide for the rest of the nation?

You think it’s “one person, one vote” but the reality is that large groups of people tend to vote in unison. Interesting that the founding fathers knew the danger of a monolithic group of people that could wield unbalanced power.

Would it not be one person = one vote? If you live in Los Angeles or BME your vote would count as 1

pomp and circumstance.
but yea, it's scary that an elector could in theory go rogue and vote against his constituents.

Say the words United...States... of America really slowly. We’re not America. Like Bulgaria or Lebanon or Peru.

Back at ya. What a fricking echo chamber this place is. Low IQ indeed

Right. Obviously this would be illegal and difficult to do. But theoretically an incredibly rich person only needs to bribe the correct 270 people to become the most powerful human.
That’s beyond fricked up IMO

Do away with, only a few different states will decide elections.

Name one thing you deviate from as far the the Fox News/ republican narrative... think maybe you aren’t thinking for yourself?

We are not a pure democracy.
Electoral college is essential to avoid mob rule and emotional sentiment winning elections.
No electoral college gives 100% of the power to our medias.
No fricking thanks.

I don't watch Fox News. I don't even have a TV.
I don't need them to understand Article II, Section 1, Clauses 2 and 3 while you say some "one person, one vote" good vibes garbage.
Why don't you learn about the country you live in?

That doesnt work, because then a state like Califorina can with "outside influences" Get people to come live in their state and make their populace more numerous while taking from the rest.
At that point, A couple of state hold power over the rest of the country. People in New York and Cali would get to dictate how people in Louisiana, Texas, Kansas and most of middle America to live.
I was young and stupid once, not understanding the founding father genius and was for popular voting. Now I realized, because they did that, they prevent a British Empire situation. The seat of government ruling from afar and they getting taxes without representation.
By making it popular, the power of each Senator from the other 45 remaining state is diminished greatly.

How do other countries that don’t have an electoral college get along? Maybe it’s y’all that need to take a civics class. Good to know mynanmar and Estonia have electoral colleges.

It just seems fair, in a national election, one person = one vote
You've said this 3 times in the first page and it's been explained at least twice in the replies. If it doesn't make sense to you already then it won't make sense. Stop reminding everyone that you're simple.

Too low iq. Malfunctions after “one person=one vote”
fricking dumbass has absolutely zero understanding of the EC and wants to change it because her “team” is losing. These people are sick.
