Looks like the negotiations are bearing fruit. Can't wait to see which of the haters hate on this development.

Better late than never I guess. Lebanon should have cracked down on Hezbollah decades ago.

They’ll have to kill off at the majority of the population to get rid of Hezbollah.

Hezbollah may collapse without Iranian funding. They are or were paid by IRGC.

Yep, apparently they didn’t want to.

It has always been rather puzzling to me that terrorist money gets you a seat at the table.

Good for Lebanon getting rid of their filth but fake plausible deniability shouldn’t be possible.

If Mexico had ISIS operating in their country, should Sheinbaum just shrug her shoulders? No.

Riddle me this. If everyone in the US knows 2% of the 13% cause the majority of the crime, and they have known this for 100s of years.................................why do they simply just fix it?

We know dems tried to overthrow the govt, why didnt we just get rid of them

Some of you know very little about Lebanon. Hezbellah and its aligned factions control 48.4% of parliament, they lost the majority 4 years ago.

They control, physically a good portion of Lebanon, and they definitely intimidate much more.

And yes they are losing control because they are losing funding. They arent fanatical, radical religious zealots, they are just greedy little fckers, take away the money, and like Forest Gump, they just simply stop running.

Wouldn't get my hopes up. Hezbollah is far too strong and has support of the Shite population there. Hezbollah co-controls the country and is armed to the teeth.

I think it's possible for some people to have a nuanced view of things, and impossible for others.

One can have a negative opinion of Hezbollah, yet see how tying their destruction to a peace deal that's related to our peace deal with Iran is dangerous.

Shiites make up 1/3 of the population of Lebanon and the vast majority of Southern Lebanon. They are tied to Hezbollah. This increases the likelihood of Civil War in Lebanon tenfold. An increase in civil war in Lebanon draws in the regional powers in the Middle East (Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Turkey especially).

We literally just watched how disastrous and deadly this was in Syria, and now we have an al Qaeda terrorist running that country.

This isn't some game of checkers where every move is understandable. There are many second and third order effects that happen. While it would be great if Hezbollah didn't exist, the process to take them out is likely to cause outcomes that are potentially worse than their existence.

I see the post about Hezbollah working on defection of the Lebanese troops, and I believe that’s been a problem since Islam became a majority in Lebanon. They’re getting the wolves to control the wolves.

“ They’ll have to kill off at the majority of the population to get rid of Hezbollah.”(quote).

A lot of people determine allegiance by choosing whichever ideological group holds power. Not out of true religious belief and fervor but for personal prosperity. Once the population realizes that Jihad comes with real martyrdom instead of prosperity, many will abandon it.

Israel will wreak havoc picking of Hezbollah one by one, totally ignoring collateral damage. And everyone knows it.

Islamic violent Jihad has to go. The migration and immigration strategy works much better.

Lebanon is ~68% Muslim currently. They’re already screwed.

Hezbollah is more funded and bigger than Hamas. Israel decimated Gaza a Hamas still exists.

In order for Israel to exist in the minds of the leaders of Israel they’ll have to take over the Middle East completely and put a boot to the neck of the civilian population.

Perfectly ok for Lebonon to kill Hezbollah - that's fine but if it's Israel cracking down on Hezbollah - Israel is evil!!!!!
