The elected internationally recognized government military fighting sectarian militants in their country is definitely more appropriate than a foreign country’s military invading them to fight against a sectarian military.

The new President of Lebanon is the former head of the Lebanese Army. He’s got a lifetime of experience dealing with them, knows their strongholds and tactics. Supposedly, he’s been weeding out the known traitors within the Lebanese government in his first 18 months in office to give his men a fighting chance. It would be naive to believe that at some point his own palms have been greased, it’s the nature of life in that part of the world, but he probably realizes this is a golden opportunity to become a national hero.
