about the virus... she believes if she gets it, she might not survive it.

I am worried about getting the country back to work...I have kids going to college soon...

she was complaining about people getting out to get a coffee...

I mentioned the fact we have zero deaths in Wake County with with about 325 cases...

she said "let's keep it that way, hinted that schools may not start in September'

Frustrated at that notion, I asked "what is the end game here then?"

she replied "well, everyone is asking that question, right now, everyone needs to just stay home"

I didn't feel I was very nice in my tone...

nonetheless, everyone has perspective...thus some divide...

Lastly, i will close with Twitter, reading twitter changes my mood. I can't believe there are that many crazy people "out there"...who think Trump is lying about everything, is evil, greedy, and all the rest of the garbage they spew about this man... I don't get it

The only thing that pisses me off about this is "why wasn't she this worried last year when the flu was killing thousands!"

If she is worried she needs to eat healthy, take vitamin d3, c, and zinc. Since she is really really worried she should want everyone to get out get sick pass it around and become resistant to it so that she won't have to stay holed up in her house for the rest of her life.

Well, is she overweight? Does she smoke? Is she otherwise healthy??

I'd offer to her to get some sunshine (Vitamin D) or take a supplement; consider a zinc supplement (search the boards for info); wash her hands (does she need soap? Maybe she won't get out to get it?); maybe YOU can offer to bring groceries/meds to her home (being a good neighbor?).

I personally think that the vulnerable should be the ones to stay home and let the rest of us work and keep the economy going.

I think we're all wondering what the end game is.

When we get to 5 years from now and look back on yearly deaths this won't do enough to make 2020 stand out at all on a yearly bar graph.

Government spending and virtually every economic indicator will stand way out though.

Dude, pop her in the head with lead, and go get an espresso!
WTF? Are you some kind of a pussy?

Man up, and take out the trash!

Well honestly maybe consider offering to get what she needs at the store if you're going there or driving by. Maybe it'll make her feel better that someone cares a little? IDK.

This virus is nothing and we should not have taken draconian measures to address it.

there is no data that supports the assertion that what I do or don't do has any impact on her future relative to getting sick or not sick...

She has a preexisting condition. we've never done this before...to try to prevent a virus to getting to people with pre-existing conditions by staying home...

and I did mention the flu in our conversation I said something about...the flu kicks everyone's arse if they get it

this stuff? half the people don't even know if they get it...

i wash my hands like crazy...I stand back 6'...I am conscious of this junk

but I don't see or know anyone in critical condition from this virus...there isn't a pandemic in my state

i've been very unfavoring of shutting down the economy on this board, and not changing that stance.

BUT, a 38 yr old man that works for me passed away last night, another lady that is recovering, and my 22 yr old niece has Covid and feels like shite. (no reason to think she wont be okay at this point)

but, its hitting close to home in a hurry

***completely anecdotal obviously, but it changes your feelings on a subject...to some degree anyway***

yes, I am sure it changes perspective very quickly. when it hits home it hits hard...

the counter argument is, we don't do all this for the flu...

a lot of people die every year from the flu and we have a vaccine...only about 50% effective rate if you take the vaccine

we need to get through this mess soon.

if we get to the end of the month and they press for another month of stay home, it's going to be catastrophic

hope that doesn't happen...

that said, we're trying to enjoy the extra time with our teenagers...it's been nice seeing neighborhood children outside more

in one year, my oldest will be going to college, that makes me sad...

and as i said, there isn't a pandemic in our state...

The longer we prevent young healthy people from getting this the more compromised people will die.

We now have treatments, unless you live in Utah. So let those able and willing to risk it (haha) get out and get this country producing again.

Hurry up with the arrest, my TP supply is running low!

Even if you are 100% correct, someone who fears for their life probably doesn’t appreciate you implying in an unfriendly tone that she should just die of asphyxiation so you can go make some scratch.

You may want to check the numbers for your state and county again. Both have a pretty good amount of community spread.

And I don't appreciate the premise I would be an accomplice in her illness by carrying the virus..

I'm worried about the future not this virus...

Im worried our media is attacking Hydroxchloroquine...

That should be alarming to everyone...because its the opposite of what media should be doing
