Why do you keep bringing up this irrelevant diversion?
Hell, I don't think we had federal laws for elections when the country formed. I believe those came after that Civil War.

He hasn’t. He is working his way through the process. Asking then demanding then threatening. Next will be coercing.
Time will tell. You might be right, but this sure seems to be haphazard and toothless so far. To the outsider it seem to follow the President's whims on social media.
OTOH, Trump has accomplished much more than I have and negotiated for a living.

What has he or his Administration done besides issuing a pardon?
As I stated: He has asked. Then he demanded. Now he is threatening. Next step is coercion.

Yeah, maybe I missed it, I don't know what he has asked, demanded, or threatened. I am genuinely confused by this thread - like I am missing some big piece of information.

Has the Administration actually asked/demanded/threatened Colorado to release Peters?

I think the President blew through the threatening/tantrum stage in August::

Federal funds make up 30 percent of the state’s budget. Trump has already cut a lot of federal funds. He can just keep slashing. Colorado state government is already melting over it.
Colorado state gov officially stating OMB for cutting funds

Tantrum? Pathetic. Demanding a political prisoner be released is not a tantrum. Your response to it is more of a tantrum.

Wrong.
He will just keep doing what he is already doing. Perhaps a bit more aggressively.
Throw in a little DOJ enforcement of drug laws….she will be pardoned.

Thanks - that was the info I was missing.
So the idea some have is that this pardon is a sign that Trump is going to the "harsh measures" stage.

Will all governors (regardless of party) unite, in defiance of (anyone in) Washington taking such a major step contrary to our Constitution and federal system, or will the GOP governors remain silent in support of Trump?

The pardon is just political cover for some potential "harsh measures" in the future.

Do it "RIGHT NOW!!!" knowing you're not in a position to make any demands seems to be the very definition of a tantrum. Particularly when followed by a hollow threat with THREE exclamation marks.

Melting over a tweet is the tantrum. And he is in a position to make demands. They are already whining about the federal funding cuts mean ole orange man has made.

I wish they and you were as concerned about the 8th Amendment as you are with federal laws being enforced.
