The Russian Central Bank injected nearly 5 trillion rubles into the banking system through repo loans secured by OFZ bonds, so that banks could buy government debt and help the Ministry of Finance close the budget deficit, Bloomberg reports.
Banks borrow money from the Central Bank for the purchased [REPO] bonds and then buy OFZ bonds again, while the securities themselves remain on the regulator's balance sheet.
The sharp increase in injections began last fall after a drop in oil and gas revenues, and since then more than 2.9 trillion rubles have been issued.
A week ago, the State Duma urgently allowed the government to increase spending beyond the budget, and the Ministry of Finance will have to borrow an additional 2-3 trillion for the SVO beyond the plan.
Economist Korzhenevsky called this monetary financing, the result of which will be inflation, which will destroy purchasing power and become a hidden tax, but for now, the printed money will allow the authorities to meet their needs.
Ever wonder what happened to the Standard and Poor, Fitch and Moody's bond rating employees after the 2008 CDO crash in valuations? They moved to Russia and are working for the Ministry of Finance rating these OFZ bonds.
Fortunately for them, in Russia no one is allowed to question their ratings nor refuse to buy them.

Ukraine offers access to Russian military technologies for partners via TrophyLab platform
19.06.2026 13:40
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense is launching the TrophyLab platform, providing open access to Russian weapons technologies for partners around the world.
According to Ukrinform, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced this on Telegram.
“Every piece of Russian equipment captured on the battlefield is more than just a trophy. It represents knowledge of how the enemy’s weapons work. Since the start of the full-scale war, the Ukrainian military, scientific institutions, and research centers have been studying the captured equipment. They analyze components, technological solutions, and vulnerabilities to develop effective countermeasures more quickly. Now this knowledge is being made available to those working to strengthen our defenses,” Fedorov noted.
“Ukraine will provide access to Russian technologies for our partners. Companies, research centers, and governments of the free world will be able to study Russian missiles and other weapons systems in detail. This will help us find effective solutions to counter the enemy more quickly and strengthen our joint efforts to secure Ukraine’s victory. We are convinced that knowledge of the enemy’s technologies should not remain classified. It must be used to benefit those who are building our defenses,” Fedorov emphasized.
The platform provides access to research findings on captured military equipment for Ukrainian defense technology manufacturers, military units, research institutions, and international partners assisting Ukraine.
According to Fedorov, users can access technical documentation, research findings, and analytics on modern Russian weapons.
In addition, the platform allows users to submit requests for physical examination of captured samples.
Several formats for working with samples are provided, ranging from non-destructive testing to tests involving the complete disassembly or destruction of the item.
According to Fedorov, this enables engineers to test their own solutions on the enemy’s actual equipment and significantly shorten the development cycle for countermeasures.
“Russia is using its entire arsenal against Ukraine. We’re not just repelling attacks—we’re taking these weapons apart down to the last screw. What was supposed to be their secret advantage is turning into open information for those who defend democracy. The more Russia uses its weapons, the more the world learns how to stop them,” Fedorov emphasized.

Frozen Russian assets for weapons for Ukraine: New bill introduced in US
Khrystyna Bondarieva — 19 June, 17:28
A group of US senators has introduced legislation that would amend existing law to allow Ukraine to use assets confiscated from the Central Bank of Russia and other Russian sovereign assets to purchase military equipment.
Source: a press release on the website of Senator Tim Kaine, as reported by European Pravda
Details: The Seized Assets for Battlefield Equipment and Readiness (SABER) Act was introduced by Democratic senators Tim Kaine, Chris Coons and Sheldon Whitehouse, together with Republican senators John Cornyn, Roger Wicker and Chuck Grassley.
Quote from Kaine: "The resolve and resilience of Ukrainians in defending their homeland from Russian forces has been commendable, and the international community must continue to do all we can to ensure Ukraine has what it needs to be successful on the battlefield and rebuild their country.
That's why I'm joining my colleagues in introducing this bipartisan legislation to allow the use of Russian sovereign assets to buy defence articles that would support Ukraine's fight against Russia."
Details: Senator Cornyn noted that the REPO Act, which allows frozen Russian sovereign assets under US jurisdiction to be confiscated and transferred to Ukraine, had laid important groundwork for the seizure and repurposing of billions of dollars in frozen Russian assets.
Quote from Cornyn: "By extending the law's permissible use of funds to replenish Ukraine's arsenal, this legislation [SABER – ed.] would go one step further to helping our ally defend against Russian aggression and force Putin to foot the bill for arming Ukraine."
Details: Senator Coons stressed that SABER would create new avenues for providing support to help ensure "our and Ukraine's security".

Merz knows Merkel very well.
This normally would not have to be said, it's self-evident that Ukraine must decide what is good for Ukraine. But Russia is trying to maneuver the EU into taking charge. A situation that can be easily manipulated into a cease fire in place while Russia recovers.

When the full-scale war began, we were hit by missiles that killed children and adults. And Alexander Lukashenko knows this. A large number of missiles were launched from Belarus. Back then, he called, apologized, and said it was out of his control. I don’t believe that, but that’s what he’s already said. Now, Russia will keep pushing him further into this war. Now, he understands that Ukraine will respond.
There’s no need for extra words. There are retransmitters on his communication towers. On his territory, along the two regions bordering Ukraine, there is equipment that adjusts fire on our people. He should remove that equipment. I think a week is enough for him to do that. Because right now, every day, our civilians are being killed, and children are being wounded as a result of this. If he doesn’t do it, we will.
The same goes for his oil-refining sector, for example. We are doing everything so that the Russians don’t have the ability to sell oil and supply diesel and fuel to their army. Today, Belarus is one of the key suppliers for the Russian army. Can this be stopped? I’m sure it’s within his power. And he is the one who controls it.
As for the drone strike on a bus with Belarusian children, everyone has already acknowledged it – international experts and, it seems, even the Russians are admitting it wasn’t our strike. The Russians will resort to all sorts of provocations to drag the Belarusian people into this war. This is one of them.

Biggest Ukranian win in the entire war is something Russia did to itself

Reports that Russia now holds and is clearing the majority of the fortress city Kostiantynivka. Seems the die is cast there.

Yeah, that's been a matter of time for a while. But you'll have people pretend Ukraine still controls it months from now like they did with Pokrovsk
