No, "Due to the recent Trotskyite budgetary restraints, no OT will be paid until next fiscal year. Employees with ten years or more seniority will be considered for compensatory time, but only on an individual basis and only with written and notarized approval from Pres. Zelensky, Pres. Trump and Pres. Putin.

Those employees that are not willing to work for the glory of the Trotskyite comradeship in these times requiring great personal sacrifice, will negate any existing deferment and be considered for an immediate position with a more direct effect on the benefit of our community. It is suggested that these employees top up their medical, disability, life and burial insurance asap and read the terms and conditions for cancellation and denial clauses due to claims originating in any military service in any active war zone.

Make a wise and considered choice. Seasons Greetings from Management."

.

So here I am. Merry Christmas and Happy Boxing Day.

All expenditures personally ok'ed by Pres. Putin.

Yeah, technically it's always due to heart disease. It's what causes the heart disease that is of interest in Russia today...

As Martin Cruz Smith wrote, the author that people need to read in order to really understand Russia is not Pushkin, Tolstoy or Dostoevsky. That would be Lewis Carroll, author of "Through the Looking Glass, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland".

"They won't know when you're lying if you lie all the time."

He was serious.

At the base level, slavery was always about blacks selling blacks. The only thing of note here is that she was forced to resign. If she was still an ANC member, she would still be an MP.

Investigating 'fraud' in a society like Russia?

Actually they're looking for Russians with hidden wealth that can be stripped to their BVD's and thrown in jail.

quote:

The Central Bank has obliged banks to monitor Russians' smartphones.

Russian banks will monitor what is happening on the smartphones and computers of their clients, according to an order from the Bank of Russia, which approved the criteria for suspicious banking operations.

The new requirements will come into effect from January 1, 2026. The document is designed to strengthen the fight against fraud.

“Factors indicating a risk of fraud have been detected on the client's device (smartphone or computer) used for transfers (for example, the presence of malicious software, changes in the operating system or communication provider, which may indicate that criminals have gained remote access to the account)”, states one of the criteria.

As specified in the Central Bank's order, banks can obtain this information both independently and "from communication operators, messenger owners, and website owners".

Russia’s dystopian digital Iron Curtain..

The real Russian fraudsters are either in Putin's Cabinet or long gone, as a matter of speaking.

When a thief betrays Putin, and doesn’t pay his tithes from illicit gains - they can expect Putin to take everything and hunt them down.

A search has been launched for the former deputy governor of the Rostov region, Vladimir Okunev. A case has been opened against Okunev for abuse of power, and the ex-politician caused damage worth 200 million rubles.

The state has already nationalized 36 of Okunev's real estate properties in Moscow and the Rostov region, 25 premium and cargo cars worth more than 600 million rubles, and seized more than 100 million rubles.

Now probably resident in Cyprus or Monaco, enjoying the proceeds of his crimes.

"They [Russians] see our lines - our interceptor lines, which we are using quite effectively - and they are trying to bypass them. They are doing it, by the way, with the help of Belarus - Belarusian territory - and technically with the assistance from Belarus as well."

The big news is that Zelensky is going to agree to something like the Witkoff plan. He's going to agree to give up the rest of Donetsk in exchange for Zaporizhzhia, etc. The US and NATO are going to bestow something like Article V guarantees for Ukrainian security. And Zelensky is coming to Mar-a-Lago on Saturday to officially sign off on it.

Except, of course, that any official territorial concessions would legally require a vote of the Ukrainian people, so Putin will have to agree to a 60-day ceasefire so that the vote can be held. Zelensky will be publicly inviting Trump to Ukraine to make the case to the Ukrainian people as to why they should vote for the plan and put their trust in the US to back it up.

In sum, Zelensky is going to put the ball right back in Putin's court. Will Putin agree to a 60-day ceasefire? Will he accept the kind of NATO presence in Ukraine that would be necessary for Ukrainian security guarantees? Doubtful.

And then what does President Trump do? We'll see.

The Ukrainian 20 points aside, I believe the news here is that Zelensky is taking the initiative. We don't hear a peep from Witkoff or Kuschner and Trump is relatively quiet on the Mar a Lago meeting as well. So it could well be cancelled or delayed at the last minute.

I also believe that what Trump will do is exactly what Putin tells him and the Ukrainians know this better than anyone. Hell, Budanov has probably helped with the translation of the instructions from the original Russian...

So what Zelensky will be looking for in Mar a Lago is the Russian position and the Russian arguing points which Trump can't help but indirectly give him. Of course, Zelensky will also milk as much positive press out of this as he can, putting Trump on the spot to finally do something to force the Russians to take this peace proposal seriously. They will never do that, but keeping Trump sweet in the process is the main prize.

Finally, you can believe the Nobel Peace Prize will be discussed. That's the shiny bauble. Not shiny enough to overcome what Putin has, but enough to get Trump to see that he will have to force the Russians to any peace plan. That will bring the Tomahawks onto the table. Just Trump seriously talking about them again will shake the Russian tree enough to see all kinds of things fall out. Like a cease fire.

Finally, if the Russians believe that Trump is actually sending Kyiv the Tomahawks, they will have to do something radical to protect the Shahed production in Yelabuga. Like giving the whole area to the Chinese on some sort of protective long term 'lease'.

Yeah, we'll see.

Sounds promising, but I won't believe it until the ink is signed.

If Russia agrees to something along these lines, it has to be viewed as a major win for Ukraine. They have lost land, but they fought Russia to a stalemate for the last 3.5 years and didn't lose their country to the mighty Russian military.

At the start of the war in Feb 22, Russia already controlled 42,000 km^2. If the proposed plan is adopted, Russia would have a total of 108,000 km^2 of Ukrainian territory...The net gain for the last 4 years of fighting is 66,000 km^2.

At the start of the war, Ukraine controlled 558,628 km^2. Russia has captured 66 km^2 of that....or 11.81% of Ukraine. Russia lost its army to capture 11.8% of Ukraine, 66,000 square kilometers.

Not to mention, Sweden and Finland joining NATO, Europe waking up and rearming, losing the Black Sea to a country without a navy, using up almost all of its armor reserves, having its Air Force exposed as ineffective, losing Syria, having to turn to China, Iran, and North Korea for equipment, ammo, and troops.

Under what definition is this not a disaster for Russia?

ETA: Add to that list, doing significant damage to its economy, losing Europe as a customer for natural gas and losing the market for its oil.
