Russia’s Kirishi refinery halts key distillation unit after drone attack
The oil refinery in the town of Kirishi, Leningrad region — one of Russia’s largest — has shut down its most powerful crude distillation unit, CDU-6, following a drone attack and subsequent fire.
Reuters reported this on Monday, October 6, citing industry sources, according to Ukrinform.
According to the agency’s sources, repairs on the CDU-6 unit may take around a month. The shutdown could lead to a slight decrease in oil product output amid Russia’s ongoing fuel shortage, as the refinery is expected to operate at about 70% of its capacity during maintenance. Other units will run above their normal load to partially compensate, the sources said.
The CDU-6 unit has a processing capacity of 8 million metric tons per year, or about 160,000 barrels per day, accounting for roughly 40% of the refinery’s total processing capacity.
The plant, controlled by Surgutneftegaz, is also restoring another key unit damaged during a drone attack in mid-September, the sources added.
In 2024, the refinery processed 17.5 million tons of crude oil, which amounted to 6.6% of Russia's total oil refining volumes. That same year, it produced 2 million tons of gasoline, 7.1 million tons of diesel fuel, 6.1 million tons of fuel oil, and 600,000 tons of bitumen.

The great thing about Geo location is you don't have to rely on the fan fiction reports from the Ukrainian Ghost of Kiev Military

Since you didn't supply any context - query was probably something like this...
What do LordBebo, ayden, ddgeopolitics, and Olga Bavona think of Russia's war of attrition ?

Another lie. It's less than 20%. In fact, Russia occupies less of Ukraine's recognized territory now than it did one month after Russia started its invasion in 2022.
I always love this argument, its akin to....the doctor said I would lose my legs and arms...but I still have half a leg....nanner nanner liar....its quite ridiculous.
By the way, according to Radio free Europe....

Ukraine's post-Soviet population has dropped by about 45% -- from 52 million to 29 million on territory that Kyiv controls.
So they have lost even more population than he stated. hmmmm

The fire hoses are well prepared. They have lengthily answers for everything, but they never can explain exactly why they have taken over three and a half years and still can not show any significant gains over s much smaller nation.

Your reports states it’s about the conflict dynamics as of October 2025. With regards to current conflict dynamics yes this is a war of attrition and Russia is fighting it as such. It’s their only option right now. However, to say that Russia went into this war at the beginning wanting it to be a war of attrition is idiotic. Russian operations at the beginning show this is false. Once again the war of attrition arrived out of necessity not any type of want.

That’s because you don’t have any reading comprehension. Barron and Cypher post daily regarding the destruction and the numerous injuries and deaths that Russia has caused in Ukraine.

without some actual facts, thanks.
He's the Tokyo Rose and Lord Haw-Haw of the Russian Ministry of Disinformation.
quote:
Lord Haw-Haw was a nickname applied to William Joyce and several other people who broadcast Nazi propaganda to the United Kingdom from Germany during the Second World War. The broadcasts opened with "Germany calling, Germany calling," spoken in an affected upper-class English accent. Through such broadcasts, the Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda tried to discourage and demoralise allied troops, and the British population.

Russia is not playing anymore. We are seeing a new phase to the War
Several hundred Russian Geran drones are currently attacking Ukranian energy infrastructure.
1st- Kharkiv is getting pounded. Most of the city is now without electricity, as Russia has hit the same substations it struck over the oast 2 days. A large fire is burning.
2nd - A massive fire is burning in the city of Slavyansk. We don't have exact information on what was hit. However, we do know that it's been struck over a dozen times.
3rd- Poltava is also getting hammered. Parts of the city are without power. Roughly a dozen Geran drones struck the city within a few minutes."
