They lost millions of men and for what? They spent billions of dollars and for what?
“Soft empires” ? They already had empires. And what good did their rigging of the Middle East and their soft empires do for them?
And to top it all off they had to resume fighting Germany and start fighting Japan just 21 years later.
You can’t say they win can you? They have never been the same after WWI.
WWI was an inner-family pissing match over who got to have Empires and who didn't...
and the answer was "nobody." They all became unsustainable after that... nobody could project enough power indefinitely to keep them.
But France and Britain managed to rig the Middle-East in their favor by drawing new states and putting minority groups in power over them, who were dependent on the big guys to stay in power and in turn gave them access to their resources for cheap. So British Petroleum and its French equivalents got quite a bit out of the whole thing.
WWI was a lesson that security alliances can really screw you over.
WWII was a lesson that you really need security alliances.

I was commenting on a conversation others have started. You'll be back to your regularly scheduled propaganda programming soon.

Incorrect. LeeB was the first one to start mentioning Trannies on page 190. Question for you DoubleB....Do you lie this much to your Wife and kids at home?

there you go, bringing up Trans people again!

The sources told Reuters that a furnace at the unit, as well as some other equipment, was damaged, adding that repairs could take about a month.
To compensate for the outage, the refinery will boost operations at its still functioning sections by up to 20%, which will allow it to maintain processing at roughly 75% of its nominal capacity, the sources said.
This makes no sense to me. It sounds like the unit in question is a crude unit. I'm not so sure they can make up the lost production with an existing operating unit. That is unless there is an older crude unit which is idle. Now a switch to a heavier crude could result in 10+% increase in capacity of the other unit but that is not 40% of the entire capacity getting to 75%
FTR, a furnace, aka fired heater, is used to heat the crude oil before it is fractionated. Another furnace, aka fired heater is also used as a reboiler for the fractionation.

You were actually the first person to bring it up. Page 190. You like to ignore facts and lie. A failing tactic for Libtards like yourself. That is why Trump is your Daddy

True. Half the population has left. Russians are killing Ukrainians at a 30:1 rate. Russians are pouring in through pipes. 115,000 Russian troops are poised to a major breakthrough around Pokrovsk. 25% of Ukraine has been occupied and Russia’s biggest ally the US is going broke.
I read all of that from an unbiased Russian insider.

Pro-Ukrainian people: Uh, I think the Russians are going bankrupt
Actual Russians: HOLY SHITE WE"RE REALLY GOING BANKRUPT
Russia Hit by 'Tsunami' of Bankruptsies
Russians Companies See Sharp Rise in Bankruptsies
Reuters: Russia on Path Towards Bankruptcy
See Barron, that's how you do it - post REAL sources and not half-assed nobodies. It will help your case immensely.
SEE? I CAN HELP.
Would I file taxes in the US or Russia? I need to know because that could affect my salary

By the definition that the only way Russia wins is if they take over the entirety of the Ukraine.
Says who?
Says the guy with a couple of decades of actual military experience who actually knows what he's looking at.
But, hey, don't take my word for it - would Putin's be better for you? At the beginning of the war Putin laid out five objectives for his 'Special Military Operation':
1.Take Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia
2. Keep NATO from expanding/Ukraine Neutral
3. Disarm the Ukraine
4. Replace Zelinsky's government with a pro-Russian government
5. De-Nazify Ukraine *SNORT*
He is 0-4 in the first four, and I won't dignify the last with a response.
So, by his own stated objectives, he's failing.

Except Russia already has control of their must-haves from this conflict (Crimea and a 'land bridge' to it). You already said Ukraine won't push them out.
Correct. Only they've shown they can't exploit it, and hell, they've had Crimea since 2014 only to watch their military become open targets to Ukrainian drones because they don't have adequate air superiority or even security.
Think about the examples I gave. In the American Revolutionary War, the British took the key city of New York at the beginning, taking not only a vital port but essentially cutting the Colonies in half, with the North and the South separated from each other. In the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, they took over every major city, road, and supply hub at the beginning. In Vietnam, we had control off every major city and military objective in the South. Yet in all instances the more powerful party was unable to take advantage of these accomplishment. It didn't matter that they couldn't be pushed out - in every instance the losing party just got tired of fighting and left. That's the Ukraine's plan.
quote:Correct. This will not happen until well after this war is over, so for the purpose of a current military discussion it's irrelevant.
Ukraine faces demographic collapse
quote:Possibly, but again, this will only happen after the war. As pointed out by Russian Z boys, Ukraine still allows people to go on vacation - not exactly a sign that they're desperate at this point.
and the complete erosion of their military.
quote:
Its hard to say either side is winning with the amount of death and destruction occurring.
They are both losing, there can be no doubt about that. Both countries are utterly screwed after this war ends.
But as long as Ukraine is an autonomous, separate country and the Russians take less around a KM a day, they are distinctly winning against Putin and his cronies.

Failure to date.
2. Keep NATO from expanding/Ukraine Neutral
NATO expanded, another failure
3. Disarm the Ukraine
Ukraine has a larger military, another failure
4. Replace Zelinsky's government with a pro-Russian government
Another failure and actually the Russian invasion has solidified the Zelenskyy government
5. De-Nazify Ukraine *SNORT*
This one is laughable.
