They prefer it to come from the Congo mined by slave labor because they are such stewards of the planet and people.

Canada-based Lithium Americas Corporation plans to begin mining as early as 2026,

Why would a Canadian based company be mining the deposit?

They have a point.

I'll help out by driving a vehicle that runs on gasoline.

They were responsible for the discovery, it sounds like. Their overall operation is designed to develop lithium deposits in the Americas for supply chain security. The initial focus was South America, but they've been looking in North America for a while. I think they have been mentioned in the Standard Lithium thread on the Money board, but searching for "LAC" in an 857 page thread is something I'm not doing tonight.

Biden will make sure that it is never mined and the lithium we get is from China. After all, that’s good for China and what’s good for them is good for the world.

I don't understand how people can be this dense. It clearly states that the mining rights are for a Canadian based company, just like the damn pipeline. You want a foreign country to mine your resources, destroy the environment around it just so you can call it American lithium? Make it make sense.

BUT OF COURSE…the LIBERAL ENVIRONMENTAL FILTH DONT WANT IT MINED HERE

I’m not liberal and I don’t want it mined there either. But again, I don’t want electric cars to be forced on us as well.

So we can mine the main component to the precious EV batteries that the left is trying to force us to drive here in the OLE USA.

But they don’t want the lithium to come from the USA due to environmental concerns that the mining will have.

Guess we can just continue getting the batteries from CHINA.

This ^^^ is a pattern with upper crust Dims/Groomers......not in my neighborhood or backyard.

Other than casinos and tourist spots, there’s very little in terms of a robust economy for a great number of these tribes.
If they wouldn't act so tribal, they could assimilate into the US with the rest of the Mexicans.

The Joe Regime will probably find some way to sell it to the Chinese, then buy it back from them a five times the price

The Chinese probably already own the land and minerals.

Exactly, and stories like this just prove they're more for virtue signaling vice saving the environment as they are to quote Gunny Highway, "ecologically unsound."

This 1883 photograph shows the aftermath of the eruption of Krakatoa. The explosive force of a 200-megatonne bomb killed 36,000 people and cooled the entire Earth by an average of 0.6°C. The ensuing tsunami waves reached as high as 150 ft, rocking ships as far away as South Africa.

quote:

Around noon on 27 August 1883, a rain of hot ash fell around Ketimbang (now Katibung in Lampung Province) in Sumatra. Approximately 1,000 people were killed in Sumatra; there were no survivors from the 3,000 people on the island of Sebesi. There are numerous reports of groups of human skeletons floating across the Indian Ocean on rafts of volcanic pumice and washing up on the east coast of Africa up to a year after the eruption
(Note. This is NOT the largest eruption recorded in history)
