BREAKING: Today I am announcing 350 National Guard troops will be deployed to New Orleans.
These citizen soldiers will help ensure safety during the busiest season in the city. We owe them all a debt of gratitude for their commitment to our State and Nation.
I also want to thank President @realDonaldTrump and @SecWar Hegseth for putting Americans and their safety first.
Good for New Orleans

Awesome!
The X replies are kinda brutal though.

The other deployments were memes, but this honestly needed. Probably should be sending in the 101st tbh.

Go post them up at the corner of Royal and Canal. I’m tired of Canal being unsafe.

I know it won’t happen, but if New Orleans had any sense it would do everything possible to revitalise Canal St. and make it safe. The decline in that area is an anchor around the neck of tourism.

Stupid dumb. Why make such an announcement ahead of time unless you want more lawsuits to be prepared & filed and school absenteeism to escalate?

There probably won't be any lawsuits, because having the governor send the NG troops in is the legal and proper way to do things, instead of the White House stretching the limits if the law.

The governor is deploying here, not POTUS.
