When the dollar crashes and this place implodes, and the freaked out folk 'turn back to God' and choose a *real* Christian President...and that leader 'rules with a rod of iron'....he'll understand then, Scruff. But not now.

Until the government identifies new political opponents. But that never happens in the United States.

You honestly don't have an issue with a government entity using their power to attack political opponents? You really don't see a problem with that?

sure . . . as you've stated it.

i'm just not that upset about the current "scandal".

honestly, i'm tuning out more and more noise these days.

Ah, gotcha.

I don't have much faith in anyone ever uncovering any substantial evidence of wrongdoing, if it exists.

The Republicans will harp about wanting to find the truth, but they'll come short of releasing anything relevant. I predict the most we will ever get is tidbits of info that can be used against Democrats in campaigns, like the OP. The Republicans would do the same thing with the IRS if they could.

And I agree with the whole tuning out more and more. Most news released to us is crap anyway.

I don't understand. How would Mary being linked to the IRS going after the Tea Party hurt her? The NYT and Wapo tell me that everyone hates the Tea Party.

Not that it will much matter; the IRS is probably manned with Union employees....sooo.

NTEU

On a purely coincidental note, I am a member of this union, although I do not work for the IRS. I hope to be changing unions later this year.

Of course you're not.

BUT let the shoe be on the other foot...

This is setting bad and I mean bad precedent.

The power in DC will swing the other way and when it does, do you think for ONE MOMENT that this is going to be forgotten?

Think about that.

On May 21, 2013 the National Republican Senatorial Committee sent the IRS a Freedom of Information Act request asking for “any and all documents or records, including but not limited to electronic documents, e-mails, paper documents, photographs (electronic or hard copy), or audio files,” related to correspondence from January 1, 2009 and May 21, 2013 between thirteen different Democrat members of Congress and top IRS officials. Those officials include former IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman, former Commissioner Steven Miller, senior IRS official Joseph Grant and former head of tax exempt groups Lois Lerner. Members of Congress named in the request include Sen. Schumer (D-NY), Sen. Reid (D-NV), DSCC Chair Sen. Bennet (D-CO), Sen. Landrieu (D-LA), Sen. Pryor (D-AR), Sen. Hagan (D-NC), Sen. Begich (D-AK), Sen. Shaheen (D-NH), Sen. Mark Udall (D-CO), Sen. Franken (D-MN), Sen. Warner (D-VA), Rep. Braley and Rep. Peters (D-MI).

So Landrieu is "linked" to the IRS "scandal" by a FOIA request sent by NSRC? Got it.

She is "linked" by the letters that she with 10 Senators wrote to encourage the IRS to go after Tea Party organizations/donors, D. Those documents and public domain, and that apparently is what is being withheld from public scrutiny. But they'll play hell hiding it for much longer.

Top IRS guys had HUNDREDS of meetings with Obama. Smoke = Fire. Just a matter of time.

And if GW would have pulled this crap...we'd be all over his arse too. Obama is a liar, and a Chicago politics rogue. He's getting this nation in serious trouble; and just like all these other scandals and lies like "you can keep your doctor"...it's all going to end up right in his lap.

Mary's too. But you won't "get it".

Sew the wind...!

Go ride the bicycle...great weather.

It's a more concrete link than a video was to Benghazi. Yet you pimp that "excuse". Daily.

It doesn't matter much with 5k but it's nothing to celebrate when you loan the government money with no interest.
