Not a fan of Beshear but he’s not wrong here.

He just wants to try to appoint someone. He has no power to demand anything at all.

I'm sure there are no shortage of RINOs he could appoint.

Would've been nice to have equal energy for appearances, whether it was Biden or Mitch disappearing for a month.

The governor in Kentucky doesn’t get to make the appointment. Republicans in the legislature fixed that. Just an FYI.

Does it really matter? Anyone who gets appointed or thereafter is nothing but a place holder of bs

Team Beshear here... just this once.

Supposedly Mitch has been released from the hospital... if he still can't say a few words he needs to go now. How long has it been? June 14th?

He can’t appoint anyone. He can only call for an election.

He needed to be put out to pasture a long time ago.

It’s been weeks since anyone has heard McConnell speak. It’s clear he’s incapacitated.

I heard on progressive radio this morning he will try to fight the law that says he can't appoint someone that is not a republican. ( I didnt check to verify this)

Is that why he waited weeks to address this?

He could have done this with more than a week remaining until the deadline.

The governor is prohibited by law from appointing a successor; the position can only be filled by special election.

Yep, but why go through the expense and drama of a special election to replace The Turtle when the primaries are just a few months away?

He has already said he will attempt to make the appointment.
