OK, How does that work? Is it even feasible by hitting the prop?

After dumping fuel on it from above. I’d say that’s a big middle finger. Clearly sending a message.

Seems like it would damage the plane too.

Sure, it's gonna take one hell of a pilot though to do it without damaging your plane.

If the American version is to be believed, it sounds like the Russian was trying to set it on fire by dumping fuel on it then trying to ignite it with his engine exhaust.

I'll bet he got too close trying to ignite it and the nose of the tinker toy hit his engines and damaged it enough foe the onboard electronics to lose contact with the operator so it went down.

If I was a country against the US, I would want to keep the drone together to steal information.

It also good to also learn how it works, so you can learn to disable communications when the drone used against you.

LINK forces.net article on the tactic with photos.

It’s how the WW2 British spitfire pilots took out V1s as a last resort when out of ammo.

I guess technically they did not shoot at the drone, so it couldn’t be an act of war

Edit to v1

True that. They would tip it with their wing to make it spin out of control.

Not sure why it is embarrassing? Sounds like some dudes from Russia who are hopped up on mma are pilots and probably did something they were not supposed to do wing hotshots.

Right you are Tigerves regarding the V2.

And while the Russians were insistent on taking Berlin themselves, oh Ike said fck that, go find this Van Braun guy who invented the V2 that thing might come in useful.

Made him an offer he couldnt refuse, plunked him down in Huntsville Alabama, and Florida may have sent them to the moon be we built those babies. What a wonderful time in America.

So much pride in America. Now people would sue for sound pollution when they were testing or disturbing the wildlife.

Forgive me for hijacking, but is there any info on exactly where this happened? Takes a lot of balls to do this unless the drone is in the wrong place.

Again, look at where the propeller is.

It certainly was there to help Ukraine, why else would we have a drone so close to a war zone.

Powers that be must be awfully scared Xi is going to reach a peace accord, so lets see what else we can do to provoke Russia.

Our foreign policy is such a disaster.

The Reaper image I found on YouTube shows a prop on the rear of the drone so if a Russian jet damaged the prop and not the engine I hope there's a video so we can see how this ace Russian pilot pulled this stunt off.
