I could make a case for first degree murder.
Cops have used the same excuse for shooting people multiple times.
Cops believe that they can safely pull their gun and murder someone if they yell "taser" before firing the bullet. I think that every such case was intentional murder.
Tasers are very light and colored yellow. Potter's service weapon was black and heavy. Tasers are pulled cross-draw from the left. Guns are pulled from the right. Potter aimed the gun, hesitated, yelled "I'll taser you" and then fired.
Potter had a perfect view of her heavy black aimed gun for several seconds before she fired.
When she resigned Potter said that she loved every minute of her career as a cop. Potter loved the second that she fired the fatal shot and she loved every minute while the young man died.

did Potter or Wright create the unreasonable risk?
i'm not against the manslaughter charges here, but wouldn't you argue that Wright aggressively trying to get away from the cops and speed away create immediate risk?

Not a very good one, unless you have social postings of her saying she hates blacks or something like that.

Not really but you could definitely make an excellent case of being a fricking moron. You fit the bill

Especially with a charge of armed robbery actively being adjudicated in the court system.
That was part of the reason they were arresting him.

Both Potter and Brooklyn Center police chief Tim Gannon submitted their resignations on Tuesday.
Does this seem strange to anyone else? Why would Gannon feel the need to resign.

He was told to resign after he said it was an accident and to let the investigation happen... can't have that shite, need to burn and loot some shite...
Personally, I think we need to go back to vigilante justice and public lynchings while we are at it...

Then there is no need to Burn Loot Murder?

Demands by LeBron and crew will be for a murder charge.

Okay, everyone has to admit that it was a huge frickup mistaking her pistol for her taser, but will “intent to kill” have any bearing on the outcome of the trial?
You’re going to have a hard time convincing a jury that a 26 year veteran female police officer with a good record had an intent to kill a black man.
Basically, it was a huge frickup/accident that happened. And none of this would have happened if Daunte hadn’t resisted arrest and got back into his car.
No one can make the case that she is a danger to society. This is only about retribution. Honestly, if this exact situation happened to a member of my family, I would not want her to be charged. Her life has already been destroyed.

Defense should be easy. All you have to do is prove that a car is a deadly weapon. If you do then Wright took control of a deadly weapon, with a passenger in it and while non lethal force would have been a better decision, lethal force was justified whether intentional or not.

To me this would seem to cover the situation if an officer was twirling their gun around like trick shooter and it went off killing someone.
In this example they "consciously" took actions increasing the chances of accidental discharge that resulting in someone dying.
So it's not just accident = manslaughter, but purposefully acting in a risky way AND an accident happens (and someone dies).
In the Kim Potter chase it just looks like an accident. Unless we find out she was wearing her taser wrong or had been drinking or some other behavior that would increase the risk of an accident. And maybe there is.
But I am not an attorney so would like to know if that is your take?

Accidentally killing someone is the literal definition
While i agree, it seems like intent is enough to determine whether or not someone is guilty or not. At least, when it comes to politicians...cough...Hillary Clinton.

She’s a dipshit - should be negligent IMO

I would imagine officer Potter career being that long she did a lot of good for her community and probably saved some lives along the way.
A stupid move by a criminal THUG takes it all away and just might put her in jail. F'ing disgusting.
