They already fired the city manager to appease the public. That’s gonna cost them a couple million

This seems reasonable but I doubt it will please BLM

Yes but nc tiger is harping on the wrong part of the statute.
The statute says the killer has to “create” the unsafe situation.
Defense will argue the deceased “created” the unsafe situation by resisting and putting himself in a situation where cops could frick up and kill him.
It looks like an overcharge to me but they’ll plea down to something.

She is a 24 year veteran, a woman in a males world and diversity is our strength, have to argue based on her merit this was her body doing exactly what we hope to all reach, acting upon muscle memory and reacting to the situation presented without haziness of the mind

I’m arguing your assertion that accidents aren’t included in manslaughter 2
Your statement was "Accidentally killing someone is the literal definition."
Presumably you were referencing Potter.
Accidentally killing an uncooperative perp does not in and of itself establish guilt of any crime, much less second degree manslaughter.

Or a conscious risk when an accused armed robber that had his bail revoked for missing a court appearance ............

So tasers have never caused great bodily harm or death? Because she consciously took that chance. She was then negligent in the handling of her equipment.
I don’t know what the lesser charge says but a good prosecutor could convince 12 self hating Scandinavian whites in MN (or some combination of self hating whites and minorities) that the officer is guilty. I wouldn’t take those chances if it were me being charged.

No, I was stating killing someone without intent to kill them falls under most manslaughter statutes.

This is a gross overreach. I hope every cop in Minnesota walks the frick off the job. In Georgia, at best this is the misdemeanor grade of involuntary mans, and is best left to be resolved in civil court.

I'm guessing they have various degrees of manslaughter there, so this is probably appropriate. Negligence, which it appears she is guilty of, is a component of several forms of manslaughter, so this seems right.
She did not murder him, so murder charges are out of the question.

I feel really bad for her. She made a bad mistake, but it was a mistake that was made in a matter of seconds and as a result of someone else’s poor decision.
She should be fired as she is clearly not fit to be an officer at this point, but I don’t see why her life should be ruined by prison time.
