He knew he was gonna be investigated so he resigned, said it’s because he disagrees with the war, knowing that when the investigation was made public everyone would assume he’s being investigated for being against Trump.

Not really. I’ve followed Joe Kent since he ran for Congress, and he has always been more libertarian-leaning. The folks that back Thomas Massie backed Joe Kent when he ran in Washington.
I know it’s unusual for people in DC to act on principles, but Joe has always been a noninterventionist.

Another thing to remember is the only person punished for that $hitshow Afghanistan withdrawal was Lt. Col Stuart Scheller who was CRITICAL of the withdrawal. Nobody who planned it was held responsible…only the one who openly criticized it. Feels relevant to keep in mind.

If he is guilty, it makes sense that he made a 180 on his position on Iran.
1. He can try to claim “witch hunt retaliation” as part of his defense.

Correct. His position has largely been the same. Moreover, the reason we are in this, as admitted by Rubio, is Israel was attacking either way.
