Indian genocide.
Founding fathers bad!

Watching it now and that’s really just not true.

I wish we could just get rid of all these America hating fools. Parachute them out of a C130 in the middle of Afghanistan.
Our Founding Fathers devised a political and economic system that liberated more people, created more wealth and upward mobility… than any other system ever conceived!

I haven't seen this one, aren't his projects usually well regarded?

I've seen each of the three episodes so far.
The only thing I see that is politically slanted is that they emphasize the founding fathers' affinity for weak central governments in favor of strong congressional powers as a protection from "tyranny".
An obvious subtle dig at Trump.
They also talk about how the founding fathers were no friends of democracy. And now they were terrified that their ideas could be misinterpreted as aspiring to give rights to women, blacks, uneducated, or those without assets.
But that the idea that just about any educated, white, asset owning man could have access and influence in government was revolutionary for its time.
Seems pretty fair to me.

It does unnecessarily highlight some footnote historical events and attempts to give an apologist tint but they arent falsehoods. I would prefer he stick with the true ideals that drove the revolution instead of attempting to rehash historical herarsay and motives of the “marginalized” groups.
They do note that it was a time of empire building by all parties.. Indians included. Overall.. I’d say it’s a solid series so far for Burns but with a bit more of his personal subjectivity attached t.. he’s always willing to present some hard truths vs a purely nationalistic film.

I won't watch anything he's involved in. He's a white guilt PBS schill.

Havent watched yet, but just seeing more recent interviews of this guy, he seems like a 1st world apologist.
His older stuff was good and didnt mire itself into wallowing at the same trough like the other pigs wanting clicks or votes.
Dont know if I really give two shits what he thinks now or that I care to watch him tell any other "stories".
Yes, America did some messed up crap and we still do to an extent, but history is written by the victors and the modern lens being used to revisit the past is retarded.
And if I am being honest, I really dont care what someone's ancestors went through. All of us had someone in our family tree that were enslaved and/or in chains. Boo-hoo.

I began to watch episode 1 but started getting the vibe that the creator is a leftist type. Lots of 'diversity' and left leaning worldview takes

It was overly kind to Dragging Canoe the renegade Cherokee. The tribe had agreed at Sycamore Shoals to sell Kentucky. Dragging Canoe thumbed his nose at his chiefs and attacked the colonists. This was not mentioned. It was all the fault of the colonists.

Ooohhh. 21:24... talking about "propertied whyte men", with some serious emphasis. Going on about captured slaves... like their own daggum people didn't sell them ...
oh, and indigenous people... europeans want the wealth they can get from native people... native powers were JUST AS important to the global economy as places like virginia or new york.
Yeah... whyte apologist bullshite financed by... nevermind.
Go watch The Patriot... you'll thank me later, WARNING: please seek medical attention if your freedom boner lasts longer than four hours.

I find this to be a great documentary. The detail is very impressive. I don't notice ant bias going on. I've learned a lot.

Anyone who wants to get the most comprehensive and realistic perspective on the American Revolution should do themselves a favor and read Kevin Phillips “1775- A Good Year for Revolution.” I have read more books on Colonial America, The Revolution, and the founding fathers than any man should admit to but Phillips book is the best.
