If German is an ethnicity, what is the difference between being an ethnic German and an ethnic Austrian? Answer: there is none. German is a nationality.

Hitler was an Aryan supremacist, not a white supremacist. That's why a guy whose face was on a t-shirt worn by AOC's grand poobah could move to Nazi Germany, marry a gal named Emilie Schenkl, and be given command of a 3000 strong army to fight in the Axis cause.

Austrian is a nationality, they are Germanic. Is our education system really this poor?

Hitler actually expanded gun ownership to ethnically German citizens, this is an oft told lie.

I would love to see proof of this.

The 1938 German Weapons Act, the precursor of the current weapons law, superseded the 1928 law. As under the 1928 law, citizens were required to have a permit to carry a firearm and a separate permit to acquire a firearm. But under the new law: Gun restriction laws applied only to handguns, not to long guns or ammunition. The 1938 revisions completely deregulated the acquisition and transfer of rifles and shotguns, and the possession of ammunition.[8] The legal age at which guns could be purchased was lowered from 20 to 18.[9][10] Permits were valid for three years, rather than one year.[9] Holders of annual hunting permits, government workers, and NSDAP (the National Socialist German Workers' Party) members were no longer subject to gun ownership restrictions. Prior to the 1938 law, only officials of the central government, the states, and employees of the German Reichsbahn Railways were exempted.[8]

I'm guessing that hunting permits required aryan certificates, which required quite a bit of effort. Government workers and NSDAP members were required to have certificates. One had to prove their heritage, so to say that Hitler automatically expanded German gun ownership through this law isn't accurate.

I'm going to answer you honestly instead of snidely. The majority ethnic group in Austria was German. Hitler was an ethnic German living in the state of Austria-Hungary which was majority ethnic German but had significant minority ethnic groups due to its imperial nature. Germany only unified into a single state in 1871. They failed to bring Austria into the Reich until 1938. This is why it was referred to as "Anschluss."

Ethnic Germans lived in Poland, Czechoslovakia, etc. They were minorities in these states and it was a major point of contention used by the Nazi government in the leadup to conflict in WWII.

Why would you make such assumptions about a law and historical matter that you were clearly ignorant of? It's remarkable.

The Nazi regime, beyond question, loosened firearms regulations for German citizens. They also unquestionably stripped Jews of their rights to own firearms. I'm not sure what is so hard to accept about this.

I probably didn't phrase the question well, too much 4D chess. There is no difference between being ethnically German and ethnically Austrian. German is a nationality, not an ethnicity.

I wish I could add to this but but I can’t. The very reason it’s said is the right to bare arms was not a mistake. It was to KEEP the Gov’t from a dictatorship end of story. Liberals really want total rule but they will never admit it.
