I would love the bump, that said it's a ridiculous idea. Pay needs to be addressed, especially upper level stem vs coaching, but this idea is terrible.

Local control of education? That ship has sailed. The feds have been in charge for a long time. The local school birds are facilitators. The curriculum is handed down by the feds. Install common core or else !!!!

Also this seems like a way for the federal government to take control over education that should be local

frick the teachers. Majority just indoctrinate kids. I feel bad for the teachers that are legit good teachers...that keep their political views out of the classroom.

I don’t care if you teach rabid wolverines being ridden by cottonmouths:
You are in the only profession in existence that works 6 months out of the year.

Sounds like Kamala is stuck in the 20th century. The future of education is online. GOP should propose building internet infrastructure and enabling an education system that is primarily online. Cheaper/equal education at the tip of your finger. A flipped classroom for every child.

No one forced you to study that or take the position. Don't bitch about something you willing do when there are plenty of other options out there.

What teacher wouldn't want an extra 13k just because. If this became a reality, I would probably do my best to get my wife to go back to teaching. She says she retired, I say she quit but that's just semantics. It takes a truly special person to teach especially in these times of over sensitivity.
Per my wife, money will never solve the education problem that we have in the USA. The problem starts and ends in the family unit/home life. Until we can address the family unit or lack there of the education system will continue to fail. While this is more of a socioeconomic issue than a racial issue, it truly is an issue of wanting to achieve more and be productive. Until we find a way to change certain attitudes about education we (USA) will continue to struggle with educating the youth and helping them to achieve more in their life.

Stupid argument. Spend a freaking week at a cpa firm during busy season, and I promise you it's a good bit harder than dealing with peoples' bastards.

I agree.
Look at correctional officers out there making 30k to deal with no shite criminals. There are so many jobs out there that deal with more shite then teachers do. I know there are rough kids and schools, but no one forces anyone to stay there. I really despise teachers when they say that stuff. I'm all for taking care of our educators, but I don't entertain the BS a lot of them spin.
I could blame teachers for many reasons why they don't deserve their pay as well. Another argument is that they spend the most time with our children, but look at the product they are putting out. Not to mention the favoritism towards certain students and treat others like shite.
And for the people here that want to jump me, I prioritize education in my house, volunteer in the school, and raise my kids so they aren't an issue at school or the community.

Well obviously you are clueless
However, I do believe the criteria should be harder
