You’re still working too hard at this.
That’s not $150k for an award winning economist. That’s for Joe in the History department.
Her dad’s estimated net worth is $3M. He didn’t get that from making a hundo in the Bay Area. He’s got a million dollar condo in DC. The home they lived in during the 80s is now worth $3M+.
We all know she’s lying when she says she grew up middle class. Just accept it and move along.
Now lie more.

Interviewer: "How are you different from Joe Biden"
Harris: "Well I'm obviously not Joe Biden and I offer a new generation of leadership. For example ...developing and creating an opportunity economy...another plan I have that is a new approach is to expand the child tax credit to $6000"
Yea, no one has ever said they want to expand the child tax credit.
This woman is an absolute idiot.

Much much poorer in the last 3 years under the Harris - Biden administration.

No.
However, her mother was a researcher / professor in Canada. Her dad was a professor at Stanford.
She wasn’t middle class by any standard of common sense.
The only way her claim makes sense if if her Marxist father was a dead beat dad.
Are you willing to make that claim?

Exactly. Can you imagine a reporter asking, "can you name any of the construction workers that lived in your neighborhood in Montreal?"

So her dad got rich after leaving the family?
I actually agree with you, bass. The definition of middle class is ridiculous. 6-figure coders in Silicon Valley live paycheck-to-paycheck. Trust fund bearing academics can claim middle class status. Rural business owners with considerable assets and sorta modest cash flow claim it. It's not a great category. But by no definition does Donald Trump fall into it at any stage of his life and she did when her parents were young and starting their careers and that's what makes it politically potent and important for you to try to neutralize, right?

Nothing wrong with being born into generational wealth.
My parents are lower upper.
I'm trying to get into that upper upper generational money.
That's what America is about.
People should just be honest.

All of that to lie more.
What a fricking shill you are.

I think part of the problem is we don't have a great simple vocabulary to describes the wide range of social variables outcome that include things like income, education, assets, cultural capital, etc. It makes arguing about this stuff very easy.

Do you think she knows what it’s like to be a working class family?
No. She doesn’t.
She’s pretending and pandering and you are OK with it. I get that.
At the very least Don doesn’t pretend to be southern faking an accent.
I’m surprised you don’t find that embarrassing.
There’s nothing authentic about her.

Let’s not forget her second mama who was a small business owner and thus makes her a small business champion.
Even though she helped hire all those IRS agents to put the screws to small business people and middle class.

She's not claiming to be Lincoln learning to read on a dirt floor.
What makes it an effective and infuriating piece of rhetoric is "middle class" is so capacious as to mean one thing to working class people while you in fact don't share a lot in common with them. This is a feature of modern American social life.
There's a lot of "both/and" to Harris. elite/non-elite, black/indian, lib/moderate. I agree with you.

This is a nonstarter in the Democratic Party, the republicans act like they want to reign in spending but never do. Hopefully trump changes that this time around
