She’s saying don’t let the past hold you back.
Which is ironically great advice for the black community that they will never heed. Honestly if we had a black president and he said “don’t let the past hold you back” most of the people in here would be championing it. But they’re wired to do that and I don’t see that changing, maybe ever.
I don’t think the quote is that bad. Not good enough to repeat thousands of times, but if it were used once in a speech, it’d be a pretty good line.
