Pretty sure Jimi Hendrix is held up by anyone with ears as one of the greatest guitarists of all time and he was absolutely surrounded by white folks at Woodstock.

Pretty sure all races can play any style. It's just less common. But blues, rock, rap, hip hop, R&B, country, etc...seems a long enough list of legendary black people in those styles to say that's non sense.

It's really unfair of leftists to bemoan Timberlake for this. Virtually every significant musical artist has gone "Americana" and "Heartland" for a spell.

U2, Killers, REM, Rolling Stones, John Mayer, Miley Cyrus, etc.

The best recent example is John Mayer who went from being a Los Angeles/NYC celebrity dating hipster to a Montana-dwelling, folk-singing Deadhead recluse around 2013.

Timberlake always gets shat on by the regressive left.

Yea he’s ridiculous. Most people just see him as the pop guy though and don’t realize it.

People that whine about shite like this have literally ZERO understanding of actual artists.

Artists are some quirky frickers in general. But one thing you tend to find in artists is a desire to explore variations on their art. Especially over time.

They aren't worried about shite like, "hmm, is this a black thing" and in the rare moments they are, it's almost certainly in the vain of, "hey, those black people are doing some cool shite.......I'd like to learn that and explore it too!!!".

Hell, fricking Snoop dog fricked around with some country for crying out loud.

Real Artists aren't exactly ones to pigeonhole themselves.

I just like good music... Why do I have to care who is singing it?

This is a startlingly racist article. Maybe white/black doesn't have much to do with it and people can just be whoever they want to be without this a-hole's approval.

15 years ago being from the South made you an ignorant piece of trash. Probably 7-8 years ago it changed to just meaning you were a simpleton and there started to be some intrigue about Southern Culture and rural America. Within the last 3-4 years a full-blown fascination with the fly-over states has emerged. Nobody wants to be seen as a coastal elite and there is some perceived nobility to being from the South. I couldn't believe it when I started meeting people in Europe saying that they wanted to come and backpack through the Delta.

So one must assume Timberlake knows who David Allen Coe is and knows the other songs he has put it. I can only deduce that Timberlake is a racist.

We're 5 years from hipsters in San Fran wearing cowboy boots and hats ironically, and random youtube tarts declaring how they are so southern because they had a great aunt who stayed in a motel in Tupelo for a few nights.
