President Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort will reportedly not be transferred to the Rikers Island jail complex in New York City after Justice Department officials intervened to stop the move.

The New York Times reports Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen sent a letter to Manhattan prosecutors last week and that federal prison officials formally told the Manhattan district attorney's office on Monday that Manafort would no longer be moved to Rikers. Previous reports had indicated Manafort would be transferred and kept in solitary confinement.

The Times reports Manafort is expected to remain in prison in Pennsylvania, where he is serving a 7 ½-year sentence, but that he could be held at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan while awaiting trial.

NY was going to use Rikers as a pressure mechanism.

Is Manafort getting special treatment? If so, why?

Id like to know why they were trying to send him to Rikers solitary confinement as well. Also, who ordered it.

Yes, he was selectively and disparately prosecuted for being part of Trump's campaign.

He got the Mueller "special" treatment.

He’s about to stand trial in NY state. As I understand it’s typical for fed inmates who are up on state charges to be transferred to state facilities. I’m guessing the solitary confinement would be for his own safety.

It appears as if he is getting special treatment.

Pathetic Dems are trying to squeeze him and they were using the threat of Rikers to do it.

Yes, I'd say that absolutely qualifies as special treatment.

The sad part is pathetic frickers like you are perfectly fine with using these tactics.

Dude is a straight criminal cry me a river.

There are guys in Rikers who are there because they can’t afford bail that would amount to a pair of cuff links for Manafort.

Because Cy Vance is letting TDS severely cloud his judgement, and he's hoping overt persecution of Manafort will encourage other Dems with TDS to further Vance's career.

Rexcatur gonna Rexcatur no it is not typical, he is NOW going to Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan. He WAS going to Rikers solitary to get shaken down more.

I say Brennan, Clapper, Peter, Lisa, Comey, McCabe, HRC, all go to Rikers solitary and get raided @ dawn by gunpoint; and when you throw a fit I will say, oh it's common.

Why are you stupid?
It is brain damaged from having its head so far up the rear of the DemProgFilth that lack of oxygen nearly killed it completely...we were so close and hopeful but alas, it pulled through.

I don't know if sending a white collar criminal to solitary in Rikers Island is special treatment. It sounds strange.

Bob Meuller has cemented his legacy as that of being a criminal, conspiratorial kingpin in THE biggest political crime of our Nation's history. And the evidence is there to prove this; it's coming in the next year. That is what matters in the end; the corrupt prosecutions/persecution and misery that Meuller dealt out to tangential Trump supporters, is a further testament to Meuller's total lack of virtue and character. He virtually pissed on that Bible/Oath to serve and defend Constitutional Rule of Law/Equal Justice...a has brought our Nation to the precipice of a civil war abyss. In effect, he's worse than Charles Manson.

I will savor the experience of seeing the Evidence made public - and even if the conspirators continue to lie to themselves and the gullible public - the knowledge that they pollute their conscience (Soul) at the deepest psychological levels...and bear that burden to hell. A well-earned and just recompense.
