I always would have sworn Gaetz was like 6-2. Shocked that he's short.

So is Nevada a purple state? Serious question. It’s always close too but it’s been controlled by one party for decades, just like Florida.
Bots act like Ron turned a state like Michigan into Alabama politically because he had a slightly bigger margin in a reelection campaign than Jeb did.

I hate this thread, but if all we care about is memes anymore, anyway, this is funny.

For the last 25 years in Nevada:
Republican Governor - 20 years
Democrat governor - 5 years
Republican Senate control - 13 years
Democrat Senate control - 12 years
The Nevada House is historically dominated by Dems.
How has Nevada been controlled by Dems for decades when half the time the last 25 years, Republicans controlled the Senate and had the governor’s office?
Over the same time in Arizona:
Republican Governor - 18 years
Democrat governor - 7 years
Republican Senate control - 23 years
Democrat Senate control - 0 years
Senate was spilt - 2 years
Republican House control - 25 years
Democrat House control - 0 years
And it’s suggested by most that Arizona is a purple/swing state.

Bots don’t act like anything. They’re just better informed than you and not driven politically by emotions like Trump OnlyFandom.

You may not remember a time, not so long ago, when Florida determined the general election. And I am not just talking about 2000.
And while Rs have controlled the state legislature for a long time, there was NEVER a super majority in the House and Senate.
Now, because of DeSantis and his leadership, Florida is no longer a state that can go either way, and it has a super majority in the state legislature. DeSantis didn’t have a supermajority when he became Governor; he grew it with legislative win after win.
As a resident of this state, it has been an
Incredible thing to experience, BUT it is not something that I consider permanent, like Alabama or Mississippi. That is why the stupid lies about DeSantis’s “mismanagement” of Florida are so very dangerous. Florida is the 3rd most populated state and growing rapidly.
It would be stupid for Florida to turn blue but as long as Trump and his sycophants like Loomer keep talking about how awful the state is, you never know.

The better example to me is Ron did to Florida what GWB did to Texas. After the 1990 election the Dems in Texas controlled both Houses, the Governor's office, one Senate seat, the House Delegation and every Statewide office except Ag Commissioner. Bush was elected in '94 and the votes started to split. In '98 the GOP won every Statewide office for the first time and hasn't lost one since. After Redistricting in '00 they took the House Delegation and over time made the Dems into a Party that was limited to Urban areas and a few other pockets in the state like South Texas. Gradually the GOP has chipped away at South Texas since.
How did it happen? Bush focused on good governance and conservative policy. Specifically he was very pro business, low taxes and regulation, passed concealed carry, and Texas started running budget surpluses. His Neocon tendencies didn't matter as Governor. Perry basically took over and carried on the same policies followed by Abbott. Texas went from 16.9 million people in 1989 to 30 million now and blew by New York as the 2nd most powerful state in every dynamic. By 2040 Texas will surpass California, maybe sooner. That is unless the Dems find a way to get power and screw it up.

IDK. I checked the Yale baseball roster for 2001 and he is the only player without measurables. WTF?

Your point is admirable in the side by side pic with Gaetz, BUT the thing is.... Desantis is wearing the boots he's being said to have lifts in so can't really depend on that one to prove the point.
I get this is all stupid stuff to bicker about, but at the same time if it's true he wears lifts then that is an underlying personal issue. I frankly don't care how tall he is, but I do care (a little well at least more than i don't) that he doesn't own it. Not going to make me dislike him though.

I love this place. This has been an interesting same side bickering thread to read. Like brothers arguing about who's the better QB. Must be what a Manning thanksgiving is like.
That is an interesting find though.

I'm sure many beat Trump up for saying he is 245#s.

That's a pretty tough argument to make when he only wears boots everywhere and he just said he's 5' 11"
I'm waiting for someone to post a comparison pic where he isn't wearing his boots. Defeats the argument when that's being done as the boots is the deciding factor.
But you are right, just own it. No one even cares. As we all have been taught since childhood..."the cover-up is always worse"
When I'm asked my height I tell people "I'm X in the morning, X minus 1" at bedtime, and X + 1-2" with my boots on".
I've worn boots my entire life. The whole floor of my closet is just boots. I have some I'll still wear since HS/College, and none do what is happening in the pic of the brown ones he's wearing.

DeSantis won his first gubernatorial campaign by .4%
It would be interesting to learn how the Trump effect made a difference in such a low % win. Did his MAGA promotion give him the bump that helped him squeak by or did it almost cost him?
