Ok, but, today all we have to go on is JoeB is leading. Can anybody just show Trump's path to beating JoeB (other than some hope)? THEN if Biden dies, then we can re-look at hoe Trump could beat Newsome.

Trump isn’t going anywhere besides either house arrest or prison

He will be an utter disaster as a nominee and you god damn know it. How will he be able to fund his campaign when all the money is going to legal fees

Those numbers aren't great for Trump

Without question his base has shrunk since 2020

And those numbers still don’t touch the percentage increase in indictments we have on Trump in the past six months.

Don’t bother reasoning with these true believers

None of them live in suburbs where he is toxic sludge

They all live in areas where trump got 90% of the vote

They are sheltered.

Trump already pulled even in the NYT polls and Biden's brain continues to disintegrate.

His war in Ukraine isn't going well and gas prices are going back up.

The future is a funny thing. You just never really know.

Why didn’t you post the Reuters poll that showed half of Republican voters won’t vote for trump if he is convicted?

There aren't that many dumb and easily bullied Republicans except the GOPe RINOs.

This is from the Wall Street Journal - hardly some liberal rag:

quote:

We need a big scorecard to keep track of Donald Trump’s legal perils.

On Tuesday a federal grand jury indicted Mr. Trump for conspiring to defraud the U.S., conspiring and attempting to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiring to thwart Americans’ civil right to have their votes counted.

Mr. Trump was already under indictment on 40 counts for allegedly removing classified documents from the White House when he left office, mishandling them when he was no longer president, and obstructing federal authorities after they subpoenaed him for their return.

In March, Mr. Trump was indicted on dubious charges in Manhattan for an alleged campaign-finance violation that hid a $130,000 hush-money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels while he was running for president in 2016.

He also faces another defamation lawsuit by E. Jean Carroll asking for $10 million in damages. All this after he was found liable earlier this year for sexually abusing and defaming Ms. Carroll, for which the jury awarded her $5 million. Mr. Trump may also be indicted in Georgia for attempting to overturn that state’s 2020 election results.

Mr. Trump has denied wrongdoing in each case. But if convicted on these serious charges, the former president would, absent a pardon, likely spend the rest of his life in prison.

Mr. Trump is also running to be America’s next president, which means he has serious money coming in from supporters. And his campaign fund is starting to look more like a legal defense fund. Monday’s Federal Election Commission fundraising reports show Mr. Trump has spent more money this year on lawyers than on campaigning. Politico found that his joint fundraising committee took in $53.8 million from Jan. 1 to June 30 but has spent $57 million, supplementing with cash on hand it raised last year. Of that spending, $21.6 million went to lawyers. That’s more than Team Trump spent on attorneys for all of 2021 and 2022 combined, when they put only $16 million into legal expenses.

In addition, it cost Mr. Trump’s campaign $17 million to raise that nearly $54 million. That leaves about $18.4 million for everything else—advertising, staff, travel, rallies and organiza-tion. A case can be made that Team Trump needs less of some of those things—especially television—than other candidates. Still, he’s increasingly diverting his campaigning cash to lawyers. Mr. Trump’s legal bills will grow astronomically as multiple trials approach. It’s not clear he can fund his campaign and pay his lawyers, especially in a general election.

LINK

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and there’s a forest fires worth of smoke surrounding Trump. His campaign will not be able to sustain the legal defenses and a presidential run, and any candidate with this kind of baggage should not be anywhere near the White House. Especially one that tried to disrupt the peaceful transition of power after a lost election.

Glad you asked as that is the conversation that needs to take place ...

I'll create a new thread and hopefully you or somebody can reply with some data instead of nonsense.

Nationally, Trump is polling at about 54%. His average in these three of the first four states is 39.5%. Tells you that the voters who are getting more exposure to the candidates aren’t as high on Trump as the rest of the country.

I think they are probably thinking things through a little bit more than everyone else. No matter the legal outcome of this farce, Trump will be spending all his time and money on a legal battle. He isn’t a good candidate at this point, whether we like it or not.

... does today change Trump being on the (1st) debate stage?
It does. The hack Judge basically threatened Trump with immediate imprisonment if he discusses anything related to the 2020 election or J6.

Jjdoc refuses to discuss general election strategy. In fact, all of the cult refuses to discuss the general election.

They scatter like roaches from a light when the GE is brought up.

Why? Because they know Trump is unelectable. 2022 made this crystal clear
