Just drove through Uniontown,PA from Deep Creek Maryland back to Pittsburgh. It was pretty American the whole way.
Smiles on faces and people holding doors for each other with a smile on. Not all is lost Baw.

Well, if you're Catesby or Tommy Jones you could get a police escort on this "tour". You don't have to dodge bullets on your way home to Division St. baw.

One of my kids went to a camp this summer that was surprisingly attended by people from all over the country. One of the kids that he made great friends with is from California. On the last day of camp, at pickup, I made conversation with parents there and found the mom of the kid I'd heard about all week.
Well... they were from California and just decided to make a vacation out of the camp. They were headed on a CIVIL RIGHTS TOUR starting that day. I could barely contain my laughter. Yeah, your 10 year old is going to fricking love visiting the Civil Rights Museum, MLK site, Selma, Montgomery... lol... I'm sure they'll see all the dead towns and think that it's due to white power.
It really made me happy that my parents weren't hippy dippy fruitcakes. And, poor kid.
